Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort

A relaxing resort hotel with good food and service. Highly recommended to families who look for holiday in Agadir.

Service was exceptional, felt very comfortable. Would definitely recommend for a nice chill stay.

We loved our stay here. The staff are nice, the hotel is very clean. The lobby area is beautiful and our room was lovely. The bed was so comfortable. Most of the rooms don’t have balconies so you will need to book a room with one specifically if you would like one. I can see why other reviews say the rooms are a little tired as the hotel has not renovated them yet but nevertheless it was still very nice. We didn’t add breakfast on as we feel it was overpriced. The crepes and waffles served in the pool area are very nice. The pool area is lovely but the pool is too cold. The room was cleaned quite late in the day but a very thorough clean was done everyday (floors mopped etc). We would stay here again. We also ate at Soul which was very nice but a little on the pricey side.

Gorgeous hotel with a traditional Moroccan vibe. We loved the restaurant by the beach, the food was to die for!! We also loved the hospitality and the pool area was one of the best we’ve seen! Rooms were lovely although the shower pressure is very poor, takes a long time to wash your hair. Despite this, we would happily return to this hotel.

This could be a fantastic hotel but has some very annoying training issues they need to sort out. The really good bits: Our room (with balcony) was refurbished and kept spotlessly clean. The public areas, restaurants, pool & lobby areas were beautiful both by day and night. The food was super high quality at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the staff were amazing, concierge, the servers around the pool, Youness & Mohamed at the beach restaurant & manager Mohsin were all exemplary. The not so good bits: Buffet restaurant. Nothing was labelled, you had to guess what the foods were. The service was well below par. Coffee at breakfast never arrived but they kept trying to deliver other peoples drinks to the table. Dinner was chaotic, tables not cleared, being left to find your own cutlery, ice bucket being brought to the table for red wine. It was not a five star experience. Lobby bar. Service was painfully slow. It took so long to get anyone’s attention to order a drink that we saw several people give up and leave. I was confused what the purpose of the blue suited managers was. They were always in the public areas & looked like they should be doing something customer facing but they just stood around chatting with each other and ignoring the guests. Would I return…? Yes but only when the hotel management have invested in some much needed staff training.

Hotel is really great. Amazing decorations and always something going on in the hotel. The hotel is really traditional and welcome tea is delicious. Facilities are great, huge pool and so many sun beds. Right on the beach (which is AMAZING!!!) Really clean hotel and staff are so friendly. Hotel is currently under construction, rooms could do with a little update but should hopefully be done when construction is finished. Soul is really nice moroccan/lebanese restaurant. Hajar was very kind and helpful as well as abderrahim, he was the only waiter in the hotel that was aware of allergens. Breakfast buffet needs all food to be labelled and allergens available. Nothing was labelled and no one was aware what the food was and what it ingredients were. Otherwise it has a great selection.

We had a good stay at this hotel in Agadir. I’ll keep it simple by detailing what we liked and didn’t about Sofitel. Pros - Staff were generally very friendly and helpful. - Beds were comfortable. - The food was excellent. - The pool area was fantastic (particularly the sun beds) and there was immediate access to the beach. Cons - The level of English among the staff was quite poor. - Some facilities were advertised such as table tennis but it turns out they weren’t actually real. - We wanted to watch Netflix and brought an HDMI but the television was about 20 years old. Not really good enough for a five star hotel. - The air conditioning was very limited. - The music around the pool was too loud. - Not the fault of the hotel, but the weather was very disappointing. Lots of grey skies and not particularly warm. - Agadir doesn’t have a huge amount on offer. I personally would return to Agadir but I would happily use Sofitel again.

Absolutely stunning hotel, with lovely design features & interior touches, kept clean and we felt relaxed. It was nice to hang out around the lobby or by the pool. The place had a relaxing vibe, overall quiet with chilled Arabic house music playing by the pool. Only have to cross a parade to get on a nice beach with a lifeguard. All entrances have security. Taxis right outside of the hotel. It’s only 10 minute (safe) walk to a nightclub area. All the staff were very nice and helpful - special thanks to Ibrahim from concierge. They help you with bags, booking trips & transport etc. There are just a couple things that could do with improvement: - the service in the lobby & pool area - it was always difficult to order a drink/food there due to a lack of staff and presence of menus. - the pool beds seemed mouldy in places and so could do with more frequent cleaning. Our room was lovely & overlooking the pool, was spacious and had lots of storage. They provided bottled water every day. The bed was very comfortable! Had an ‘energising massage’ which was the best massage I ever had!! It was firm but not painful, massaged the whole body. Absolutely loved Sofitel and will stay there again when back in Agadir ❤️

We had a wonderful evening in restaurant Soul. Extremely accommodating as we have a 1 year old baby. Great atmosphere with in house DJ playing. Amazing service by Hajar and Ayoud! Would highly recommend and will be back next time we’re in Agadir!
