I had a really lovely stay here. The hostel is in a great location, very close to the city centre and easy to reach on foot. The building itself is beautiful, cosy and full of character, with a charming old-fashioned feel. The cleanliness was 10/10 for me. Considering that it is a hostel with people constantly coming and going, I was genuinely impressed by how clean everything was, especially compared with other hostels I have stayed in. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the common area is comfortable and cosy. There is no kitchen, but breakfast is available in the morning at a reasonable price. There can be a little noise from the street outside, but overall this is an excellent place to stay. I would especially recommend it to women travelling solo. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. One extra tip: don’t spend your whole trip only in the city. If you are visiting between May and September, take one of the longer local bus routes towards the coast. The journey itself is beautiful, with wonderful countryside and coastal views, and it is a great way to see another side of the area. I would definitely stay here again.

We booked the family room as visiting friends in the village. Well the room was more like a an apartment, with a separate room with two single beds for the kids. Lovely decor and nice bedding. The rooms were immaculate and fitted out to a high standard. Charming views of the river. We had a lovely evening meal downstairs. If you try the speciality Parmo, be warned that a whole one is definitely one for those with a big appetite. The location is great with an easy walk to local shops and centre of the village. The continental breakfast was also very generous and set us up for the day. In summary, we were really impressed with the rooms and would definitely book again for our next visit and would highly recommend it. Thank you to all the team at The Buck.

Che piccolo gemma di un posto. La prima volta che visita, viaggiando da sola per affari. Perfetto posto per me. Big TV, facile da navigare lontano! Il bagno era senza spot, bellissime bagni da bagno. Letto confortevole, dormito bene una volta riuscito a uscire, potevo sentire altri ospiti sul corridoio, ma immagino che mi trovassi più presto che la media di una domenica sera (prima di lavorare lunedì!) La colazione era di buona qualità, una scelta equa di opzioni calde e fredde, un sacco di frutta fresca anche disponibile. Molto impressionato, un po' deluso sono arrivato più tardi domenica sera e ho deciso di non avere un pasto!

Anche se su una strada principale è facilmente perso soprattutto a notte, poiché non ci sono segni attraenti. Il parcheggio è molto limitato, anche se ci è un parcheggio pubblico a circa 100 metri dalla strada. È vicino al centro del villaggio. La stanza era pulita, la dimensione e le decorazioni sono anche ragionevoli.

We loved staying in this little hotel, a large and clean room with comfy bed and pillows, spotlessly clean and well stocked coffee and tea tray. As we stayed on Friday, the carvery was served and the food was good (the beef and roasted carrots was excellent) and plentiful with the price you can't beat. Excellent value for money, the same applies for drinks. Welcoming staff and free parking. Despite being positioned by the road , we had a peaceful night , no outside noise. We will stay again here as all together, it was a good hotel to stay in and I recommend it to others , for visits of Ripon, Fountains Abbey, Dales...

My wife and I had a wonderful 4 days at Gamekeepers Inn. The accommodation, service, location, cleanliness, staff, food, rooms, leisure centre and... well... EVERYTHING was of such high quality. All the staff were lovely and really looked after us, especially Dan (the manager) who very quickly and generously improved my accessibility needs when he learned I had Parkinson's Disease, which I had forgotten to mention when booking. A huge thank you to the staff, and to Yorkshire for being so beautiful! Can't wait to return in the future. Simon and Christine.

La posizione è perfetta, se necessario è stato offerto un parcheggio alternativo, che non era come parcheggiamo davanti a The George. La camera era spaziosa (ci trovavamo al numero 10) con un'area seduttiva e un desk per coloro che hanno bisogno di lavorare ... Il letto era molto comodo. Il ristorante era di prima vista ... abbiamo ordinato Steak e Ale Pie, che era delizioso e Pesce e Chips (chiesto loro di lasciare le patatine fresche/mushy) ... il pesce era enorme, fresco e molto gusto ... i patatine/chips erano fatti a casa. In generale, noi consigliamo fortemente The George.

Prezzo ragionevole per una camera in una buona posizione per la stazione ferroviaria e per ottenere cibo.Generalmente pulita camera confortevole e letto. Rimanere.

La stanza è stata ben costruita, incredibilmente tranquilla, finché i fan della cucina non si sono mossi al mattino, ma non è una questione. Il bagno era eccezionalmente pulito con tutto quello necessario per un lungo bagno se necessario. Le camere sono state fantastiche, un letto incredibilmente confortevole con un sacco di spazio di guardaroba, se necessario. L'unico riparazione che è stata fatta alla finestra aveva lasciato una pittura ”scar” che aveva bisogno di ridipingere. Il pub era molto vecchio e favoloso.
