Charming Boutique Hotel! The only reason I have rated Service as Good is because our experience at the Lamp Hotel started off on the wrong foot, thanks to Cecelia behind the front desk. Our initial conversation with her was so awkward and rude, we just looked at each other shocked that she was so unprofessional:( She was so rude to us upon entering the hotel. We politely asked if we could try to check in early. She looked us up and down head to toe with such an off putting attitude and did not even reciprocate in conversation when we asked other questions. Another couple came into the lobby right after us, and she immediately shifted her conversation to them, leaving us standing there speechless, as she began a conversation with them in Swedish. We had arrived so tired, but so excited, as my friend had already stayed at The Lamp Hotel, and had filled me in on how great the hotel was. Cecelia was not warm or friendly to us from the get go, nor accommodating to even offer to take our luggage to store until check in. We had to ask her to do this for us, and my friend literally had to ask her her name about 2 times, before she would acknowledge her question or look in our direction as we asked her questions. We had just traveled 9 hours by flight from the US, and her attitude and personality was not welcoming in any way. We thought we had made a huge mistake booking at the Lamp because of her. We were so glad we did not have to see her again during our whole stay. She was terrible and needs training on empathy, people skills, and basic hospitality. She may not be the best option for behind the front desk as the first point of contact for your hotel. Now once we got past this terrible welcome, we enjoyed our stay so much. The hotel and rooms were gorgeous. The rest of the staff were lovely. The entire hotel is clean, sexy and wonderful! The location is wonderful, the lobby is so chic. The spa is GREAT. The bathrooms are spacious and lovely. I enjoyed my picture window, the tasteful decor and all little details. Housekeeping is PERFECTION. I did breakfast each morning and the kitchen and staff there are INCREDIBLE. They all deserve raises. They were hustling, serving, cleaning, and just a vision of unity and of how to run a kitchen:) The way they all worked and got on so well with each other, was so nice to see. Overall, besides our rude welcome thanks to Cecelia, I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and WOULD stay again. I plan to go back and stay with my husband when we visit Sweden later this year.

Abbiamo soggiornato sul piano superiore (7/F) con vista sulla chiesa e una piazza. La stanza è pulita e il tubo è grande. La colazione è buona con una varietà di pane e frutta fresca. Puoi anche fare i tuoi mini pancake. La posizione è perfettamente situata nel centro della città vicino alla stazione ferroviaria. Ci sono molti ristoranti e bar sushi vicino. Nel pavimento dell'hotel c'è un pub dove si può prendere una birra a circa 90 centimetri. Questa è la mia seconda volta che sono qui.

La colazione è ricca e disgustosa.Il centro della città di North Snowping, concentrati, anche se non prosperano affari, ha una situazione di campo in cui l'ambiente è disgustoso.Nessun parcheggio gratuito, è inconveniente e attento al conto di penalità.

Vorrei poter dare 5 stelle, ma per il servizio, si è buttato in basso. La stanza era eccellente, come la colazione e la cucina. Tuttavia, il servizio era solo depresso. L'uomo che ci ha salutati come contatore sembrava voler essere altrove, ma lì, con le Apple AirPods nelle orecchie e un'occhiata sul suo viso che non si rallegrava. Non ci ha dato alcuna informazione sulle strutture, ci ha appena dato la chiave e ci ha indicato la direzione della nostra stanza; la mattina dopo, nessuno nel personale ci ha salutati e cercando di sorridere a loro era come cercare di sorridere a un gaielle assassino. Non capisco perché un hotel così bello assumerebbe personale che non può nemmeno usare competenze sociali semplici o nemmeno riconoscere i loro ospiti.

Having previously stayed here in smaller rooms, my whole perception of the entire place changed now when we got a really nice ”junior suite” on the corner of the top floor. It felt spacious, stylish and somewhat high-end, with an ambundance of natural daylight from many large windows. We also got a really nice and generous welcome amenity. That being said, the room wasn’t perfect. Several towels had (other people’s) hair on them, the bathroom wasn’t exactly sparklig clean, and the room had two single beds put together rather than a true king size, but I digress. The Box is a pretty good hotel and I would highly recommend splurging for a larger room, which makes it a really good place to stay in Linköping :)

Although it is supposed to be ”central”, it does requires from a quarter to twenty minutes walk to reach the very central part of town. Still, of course, it is not in the outskirts. The hotel is spacious and has plenty of rooms to offer in different wings. The reception is welcoming and the staff professional and friendly. The room I had was perfect size, with all the needed essentials. A good desk, an armchair, space for jackets, the bag. From what I remember the wardrobe was very essential and didn't have much of shelves. I suppose they do not expect people to stay too long. The bathroom was of a decent size, with good space and surfaces and all I needed for a shower, including an hair dryer. The bed was comfortable, but the main problem was that the room lacked AC. The first night I didn't realize that, as I did hear some ”mechanical ventilation” in the room (which turned out to be the bathroom one only) and it got warm very quickly. Luckily the windows can be open, but it makes the temperature very uneven and maybe in the coldest nights it is not the best solution. It was also quite disturbing with the door for the corridor quite close to my room, slamming heavily. The breakfast was the high point - I could spot a broad selection of food, although more nordic oriented. I would have appreciated a touch of organic food, if not local, more interesting tea and nicer juices. They seem very industrial and some lack taste. The bread was instead fresh and genuine. It could be quite crowded during breakfast time, but not an impossible situation to solve. I noticed though that my room and the area around the elevantors, felt a bit outdated, torn. My room was definitely very nicely cleaned (although it didn't get clean during my stay) but it was very standard in the quality of the materials and the appearance. Alltogether a perfectly ok stay. The price was not too high, but definitely not on the cheapest side either, but I think reasonable for the location and the quality.

L’hotel si trova in un’ottima posizione, vicino al centro. La stanza era tutto sommato comoda, anche se un rimodernata non le farebbe male. Palestra piccola ma ben attrezzata e bella sauna, quest’ultima, purtroppo, in funzione solo dalle 16:30. Personale molto simpatico e disponibile. La cosa migliore è senza ombra di dubbio la colazione, veramente eccezionale! Buona anche la cena, anche se non c’è una grandissima varietà di piatti.

Il hotel dispone di un personale molto amichevole e utile e un buon colazione. l'edificio e le camere non sono così nuove ma molto pulite e confortevoli. l'ascensore non è accessibile a tutti i piani! molto facile e grande parcheggio e vicino a una stazione di carico rapido.

Basically Motala stadshotell has a good potential to be a really nice hotel. Just fine central position at the main square. But unfortunately it is in great need of a renovation. It is quite worn and not very fresh. Especially the bathrooms look like something from the early 80-ies. And probably are... On the positive side: the beds are just fine - which of course is essential for a good nights sleep. Breakfast ok, but the breakfast room - the hotel's restaurant/bar - is surprisingly gloomy and worn. Black and grey colour scheme here. It is a beer joint. Staff ok, but not overwhelmingly nice. It is not very expensive - you get what you pay for and it's ok for a night or possibly two.
