From the moment you enter Kokuya Ryokan, be prepared to leave the real world behind and fully immerse yourself in the experience. You swap your shoes for slippers at the door and don’t see them again until you leave. You will receive a warm welcome from polite and gentle-mannered staff, get taken up to your beautiful room, and once you’ve changed into your traditional yukata, it’s time to let the relaxation begin. The multi-course dinner will probably be one of the best meals you’ve had in your life, with many unusual textures and flavors to try. The futons are comfortable, and your room is kept toasty warm. There are even skincare products to keep you pampered and moisturized between soaks in the onsen. Honestly, you won’t even need to open your suitcase while you’re there. The staff will take you through all the logistics when you arrive, but there are some things that might be useful to know in advance. - The ryokan sends a shuttle to Yudanaka station at about 15:00 to collect new arrivals, so time your journey to take advantage of this benefit. - The ryokan also offers guests the opportunity to catch a shuttle to the Snow Monkey Park immediately after breakfast the next morning. - After you leave the ryokan, they will take your luggage down to the coffee shop opposite the station, so you don’t need to worry about those logistics. - Trains from Yudanaka back to Nagano leave at 12:30 and 15:30. - The ryokan itself has several private onsens that you can reserve for a 45-minute slot. Because the onsens are on the property, you can go in with your partner or travel companions regardless of gender. It’s a boutique hotel, so you don’t have to worry about not getting access to all the onsens you want. - The ryokan is on the main road of the Shibu Onsen town. The hotel will give you a key so you can wonder down the main road, visiting any of the public onsens you wish - however, with so many gorgeous and more private onsens in the hotel itself, you probably won’t have time or the desire for this. - Also, there is a coffee machine in the room! (I was worried about having to survive without coffee, and this turned out to be an unfounded concern). We had an incredible and totally indulgent time at Kokuya. Experiencing a traditional ryokan is a privilege that you should try at least once if you can. And adding the Snow Monkeys in give the trip a double purpose, making it that much more memorable. The only thing that would have made the trip better is if we had been allowed to linger longer over every course of our dinner.

La struttura di Sotetsu fresco Nagano si trova a soli 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria ad alta velocità Nagano.È facile visitare luoghi turistici come il tempio di Zenkoji (distanza passeggiabile) e il parco scimmie di neve (passeggiare in autobus dietro la stazione ferroviaria). L'hotel è situato vicino a numerosi posti di pranzo (locali e internazionali come Starbucks e KFC) e a centri di vendita (molti di loro vendono prodotti locali). Non è difficile trovare posti per mangiare e comprare per tutti i pasti. Il servizio in hotel è anche buono. Il personale vi saluta il momento in cui entrate nel lobby e vi rispondete rapidamente alla vostra richiesta. I bagni sono posti nel lobby e non nella stanza. Quindi, prima di entrare nella tua stanza, devi prendere quello che ti serve. La camera è piccola e il letto e le mutandine sono morbide (si scuote in un po'). La finestra è congelata, quindi non si può vedere l'esterno. Probabilmente si ottiene un riposo decente se si sta solo per 1 o 2 notti. Ma per altre notti, forse la stanza è un po' troppo claustrofobica, perché non c'è spazio per la posa del bagaglio e qualsiasi altro accessorio che si possa portare. È stato freddo in inverno a circa 3 gradi. Il check-in e l'uscita sono veloci, perché devo solo inserire la mia carta di camera nella macchina. In generale è una grande esperienza e si sta certamente guadagnando più del prezzo che ha pagato.

Il servizio a questo hotel è eccellente. Dal concierge al desk front. Situato vicino alla stazione Matsumoto. Mi sono diretto ad un hotel multi-storey parcheggio al retro dell'hotel. Costava 1100 yen al giorno (multi-entry al giorno). Scambiare il biglietto di parcheggio con la ricezione. L'hotel è piuttosto vecchio. Sembra che tu abbia entrato nella zona degli anni '80. Le camere sono ristrutturate per qualche tempo, ma vedo il travestimento e lacrime. La casa era un po'sfocata, mentre la zona della vasca era polvere quando ci siamo accolti e c'era un odore di muschio nel bagno.

L'hotel è disponibile all'unico centro naturale di primavera calda della città. 100 per Servizio. Scream special to the service staff! I conducenti locali conoscono la posizione dell'edificio che è conveniente per persone che non parlano giapponese. Prenotato una stanza per 3, apprezzato che il letto di divano è stato creato prima dell'arrivo (alcuni hotel lo fanno solo dopo essere arrivato, che aumenta il tempo di attesa.) Funzionamento frigorifero. Chiesto un cambiamento di caldaia e ne hanno fornito uno rapidamente nonostante la barriera linguistica. Il lobby dell'hotel è anche un piacere di camminare quotidianamente, poiché fornisce una mostra di un samurai che celebra il giorno del ragazzo in Giappone (5 maggio) con le bandiere di koi pendenti sul retro. Un negozio di souvenir è situato anche all'interno del lobby per gli acquirenti di ultima istanza. Divertente, questo negozio di souvenir non è più costoso di quello della stazione ferroviaria.

Super convenient next to JR Nagano station. Hotel check in was fast and they managed to lend me a sewing kit and a small screw driver for me to open my toy to change batteries. Breakfast selection wasn’t that great with as it had few muslim friendly options. Room was big. Laundry service had to be booked in advance and we didn’t know so couldn’t do our laundry. The TV had a screen to show the amount of time remaining for the laundry machines. There was a free water dispenser but only at hotel lobby. For convenience to train station and easy access to snow monkey bus, it was still an awesome experience for us.

We had an amazing 2 nights stay here! Located about 5 minutes short walk from the train station, there were a convenience store and small supermarket directly across the hotel. We weren't expecting much when we booked as the photos look dated and it was a last minute trip but oh mine, we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The room was large and although it was the old room, it had a certain charmimg character to it that we love. The bathroom was also big, clean and had a lovely large bathtub. I love the full range of toiletries they provided and was hoping to buy it in Tokyo to bring home but I couldn't. There was a common area on the second floor where water, juice and coffee were provided and we bought our own sake in the evening and sat there. We spent two peaceful evenings here after dinner and it was lovely. Our only complaint was the bed was rather soft and the pillows were flat. But we will definitely stay here again when we come back to Karuizawa.

We chose this hotel by location first of all, because we arrived around midnight at Nagano station. The hotel is very close to it. There was convenient check-in and check-out automatic system. The facilities of the room were great - private bathroom and a toilet, and also pajamas. The room is very small, but it is totally sufficient for a trip.
