Fantastic location with stunning river views and a really nice hotel to stay in. The staff are very attentive and the facilities extremely comprehensive. The breakfast is a real must for anyone who wants the genuine full English experience and is cooked to order.

Cost wise it was reasonable, and the location is bang in the middle of Plymouth shopping area. Parking is right under the hotel, and check in was quick. Room was very tidy and spacious, and cool enough but no air conditioning., just fan. Staff were all lovely, bar staff, reception and service staff, notably Christopher at breakfast who went out of his way to entertain my little girl. Food wise was OK, but 2 complaints. The breakfast orange juice is not fresh, or it's watered down, not nice. And for evening meal I ordered fish and chips, and it was a SLIVER of fish in batter....which for the cost was ridiculous. The staff were very understanding, but the kitchen should definitely seen a new supplier. Overall, it was a lovely stay and would definitely go back...my gripes are purely for management if they wish to address them for future guests. Recommend.

I have stayed here before. The price I paid for a Saturday night was £39. The hotel has been refurbishing in stages for a while so it can be pot luck if you have a refurbished room or not. The room was clean and bathroom spotless. Lady who checked us in was very friendly. The only complaint I could say was the room we had phone signal was non existent, could have been warmer in the room but it's between summer and winter and for us it was OK. I like this hotel and for the price you'd struggle to find somewhere as good. Will visit again.

I booked the hotel as I needed somewhere to stay en route to south Devon agter collecting my son from a late flight at Bristol airport, so our stay was short, and overall I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. We arrived at 1:15am and there were a few things that could be improved - very tired after a very long day and a late drive, I found the instructions to find our room qyite confusing. On the paper with instructions it had the building names, but in the dark you can't see these, so it took us some trial and error to find our room. The room itself was clean and comfortable (albeit very warm and needing the window opening), as was the bathroom. My biggest concern was that I saw there was a kettle, but after searching numerous places I couldn't find a cup or glass to have some water to take my nighttime supplements, or to have something to drink in the night (I had to return to the car to get my water bottle). At receptionnin the morning I asked if there should be glasses or cups on the room, but the receptionist didn't seem to think there would be, whcih i found a bit odd. It was only on returning to my room and reading the welcome folder that I saw mention of a drawer where I'd find tea cups etc. Then sure enough I saw it marked clearly and found it. This was my mistake of course, however I would suggest that, baring in mind some travellers arrive late at night and basically want to roll into bed on arrival, it would be helpful to have some glasses or something left visible, so that clients don't have to search for them when they can barely keep their eyes open! Other than this though, I found our stay to be very pleasant, and I was impressed that the cooked breakfast was made to order, fresh and hot. Overall a good stay, just a few things that could be improved to make it easier for those arriving outside if reception opening times.

Abbiamo soggiornato in due camere King con balconi come famiglia e l'hotel nel suo complesso ha molto da fare. La posizione è fantastica nel cuore di Exeter, perfetto per camminare ovunque. L'hotel stesso è molto bello, soprattutto il bar celeste in alto piano. Le viste sono eccellenti, le bevande sono molto buone, e il servizio in alto è stato genuinamente amichevole e attento. Abbiamo anche preso alcuni nibbles nel ristorante in basso e il cibo e il servizio erano solidi. Le camere erano pulite, spaziose e i balconi erano un bel toccamento, tutto si sentiva moderno e confortevole. L'unico reale downside e è un grande è il servizio di desk front. Per un hotel a questo punto di prezzo (e soprattutto come proprietà IHG), è davvero lasciato tutto il posto. Il personale era lento, non particolarmente conosciuto (e odio aggiungere, non il ”più veloce”), e a volte molto breve/ridotto. Ci è stato detto quando ci siamo accertati che avremmo avuto un checkout tardivo come membri dell’IHG, ma quando siamo tornati più tardi un altro membro del personale non aveva idea di cosa stavo parlando e sembrava confuso su come gestirlo. Alla fine ha offerto solo una stanza fino alle 12:00, che dopo un check-in alle 3:00 non si sente davvero come un check-out tardivo. Viaggiamo molto e l'esperienza del desk front here è stata notevolmente inferiore al standard. Il resto dell'hotel (camere, bar, ristorante, posizione) è davvero buono, ma il povero servizio front-of-house è quello che ricordiamo di più. Vorrei restare ancora? Probabilmente, a causa della posizione e delle camere, ma spero davvero che essi possano organizzare la formazione e l'atteggiamento del desktop.

29/04/2025.Abbiamo visitato l'hotel di Cliffden tre volte e avevamo una stanza di club sul primo piano erano belle grandi camere, ma questa volta siamo stati sul secondo piano la nostra stanza era molto piccola e claustrofobica nulla come le foto della prenotazione. Abbiamo chiesto una stanza diversa, e l’uomo alla ricezione mi ha detto di vedermi domani mattina, e se c’è una stanza più grande, la puoi avere. Poi il giorno il mio partner andò alla ricezione per prenotare un tavolo per un pasto serale per noi. Mentre stava prenotando la tavola, la signora al ricevimento disse che non c'erano altre stanze che potesse avere. Il barista era molto gentile a parlare con lei. Abbiamo solo una cena di merluzzo e i chip non potevano trovare molte merluzzo, era tutto un battito. Altri giochi e giochi di giochi di cibo sarebbero buoni per riparare le vostre sole sulle vostre scarpe. Andate al negozio di giochi locali assolutamente bellissimo. Usiamo la piscina all'interno che era bella e pulita. I giardini sono bellissimi, e la birra è molto costosa. Andate al bar di mercantile con bevande a buon prezzo.La ricezione non è molto utile. Non capisco perché l'hotel metta persone con cani sul secondo piano, perché quando il cane vuole andare in bagno al momento in cui si scende all'ingresso il cane ha già pettinato sui mattoni. Fortunatamente il nostro cane può tenere il suo pee e lei è abbastanza piccola da portarlo.Ho seguito altre persone con i loro cani e l'ho visto. In generale, siamo stati molto delusi dal nostro soggiorno questa volta.

The hotel itself was nice; can’t fault it. Our room however, had a weird, stale smell and was off-putting, with no way to ventilate the room by opening the windows, as you cannot open them - A/C is not a natural ventilation. Bed was comfortable, slept perfectly fine, just not nice waking up with the smell, as mentioned before. Breakfast was good, although I’ve had better.

I am a frequent returning guest. The hotel is situated at bottom end of Totnes main street. It is a busy hotel and bar, serving food. The building is old with one central staircase leading to rooms. All the rooms I have occupied are very clean, decorated in a tasteful way and the beds are comfortable.. Teas are good quality Tea Pigs a small coffee machine is also provided, plus a bottle of water. I am a coeliac and vegetarian. Eating in other hotels is almost impossible,they simply do not cater for my dietary requirements,thankfully I am guaranteed a delicious breakfast here. One of the most important reasons for returning here is the customer service. The staff here are really approachable and friendly. Any issue you may have regarding your stay, they will do their best to help you resolve. T have stayed in other hotels etc if there aren't any vacancies here but from my experience if you like a relaxed friendly environment, lovely rooms, location Totnes as a base, then this is the place to come . It is also a short walk away from the most beautiful cinema I've ever been in, which is tucked away, along the main high street, My only wish is that more free parking was available . The hotel offers capacity for approx 6 cars at the rear of the hotel. There is plenty of paid parking in main street and nearby Morrisons.

I stayed with my partner for 2 nights, and it was an enjoyable stay. The beds are very comfortable, but duvets are too hot for this time of year. The shower is awkward and and is a bit small but good pressure. The overall space of the room is great for the size.

The hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking. We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service. Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing. The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay. I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped. Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet. However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'. We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.
