The traditional Chinese architecture is stunning and adds a real sense of character and atmosphere that you just don’t find in modern hotels. The neighborhood itself is lovely and very central, and the street the hotel sits on is surprisingly quiet and peaceful — perfect for a great night’s sleep. The reception team is warm and welcoming, and while English isn’t fluent, they make every effort and communication was never a problem. When you arrive, they greet you with tea — a lovely touch. The room also comes with fresh fruit and other small welcome treats that make you feel genuinely taken care of. Even the bathroom products are a delight — beautifully scented soaps and toiletries that feel carefully chosen rather than generic. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, comfortable, and charming stay.

My first visit to Gulangyu, and I discovered this hotel through Trip.com after reading many positive reviews and guest feedback. Personally, my entire 2-day, 1-night experience—from arrival to departure—was truly amazing. The front desk staff, especially Xiao She, Xiao Chun, and Xiao Hui, were exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant team was equally attentive and welcoming. One of the highlights was their thoughtful luggage service. They helped collect our luggage from the pier upon arrival and even arranged for it to be delivered back to the pier when we departed, making the journey much more convenient. I also tried lunch at the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent. While the pricing may be slightly on the higher side, the quality and overall dining experience made it well worth the value. The cheongsam experience and photography session were wonderful as well. As someone who is neither particularly slim nor young, I think it would be even better if the photography team received additional training on posing and capturing flattering angles for different body types. Overall, fantastic people, fantastic food, and a fantastic stay. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gulangyu and would love to return in the future.

Good location close enough to main attractions like the Love Tree but was still a 20-30 minute walk. Nice staff but the room needs some serious upgrades. Window was super foggy couldn’t see out of it during my entire stay and the room felt run-down and old I think some black stuff growing on ceiling in bathroom. Needs some updates maybe fresh paint better lighting. For the price I expected more

This has been the most amazing, luxurious and relaxing stay I have experienced. The beautiful gardens, architecture, spaciousness, features, lighting and water design details and attentive staff made us feel most welcome. The secluded tranquility was what we needed to unplug and recharge. We enjoyed the hot spring baths, breakfast and dinner and the massage therapies. Highly recommended and hope to visit again.
