Fujian, Cina: hotel boutique

We came here for 1 night and booked the villa suite. Additionally we also booked the Xia restaurant and rented a private boutique tour. The hotel was an Absolute delight, after travelling to many high end architectural spa hotels around the world, this hotel experience absolutely belongs in our top 3! Ms. Chloe assisted and served us with full dedication 24h, this was really another level. We will be back for sure !!

My first visit to Gulangyu, and I discovered this hotel through Trip.com after reading many positive reviews and guest feedback. Personally, my entire 2-day, 1-night experience—from arrival to departure—was truly amazing. The front desk staff, especially Xiao She, Xiao Chun, and Xiao Hui, were exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant team was equally attentive and welcoming. One of the highlights was their thoughtful luggage service. They helped collect our luggage from the pier upon arrival and even arranged for it to be delivered back to the pier when we departed, making the journey much more convenient. I also tried lunch at the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent. While the pricing may be slightly on the higher side, the quality and overall dining experience made it well worth the value. The cheongsam experience and photography session were wonderful as well. As someone who is neither particularly slim nor young, I think it would be even better if the photography team received additional training on posing and capturing flattering angles for different body types. Overall, fantastic people, fantastic food, and a fantastic stay. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gulangyu and would love to return in the future.

Great hotel nestled in a quiet corner of San fang qi Xiang. You can’t ask for a better location as it is in the heart of the historic cluster of courtyards and alleys that is the main attraction in Fuzhou. It’s peaceful at night and walking distance to the train station. The decor inside is classy with restrained Chinese influences and elegant touches. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside is we didn’t get a welcome gift like the booking mentioned but that is a small issue.

Wonderful stay at Shangri-la Xiamen, room is clean and the team is amazing from counter to room service. Special mention to Floor Manager Ryan, Kelvin, Harry, Yulia and the service staff taking care of 3 rooms at level 12. The photo taking makeovers by Sky, photographer and makeup artists make the experience comfortable and satisfying. My kids love the beach experience and the safety precaution asserted at all time. The attentiveness is outstanding. Amazing work.

Good location close enough to main attractions like the Love Tree but was still a 20-30 minute walk. Nice staff but the room needs some serious upgrades. Window was super foggy couldn’t see out of it during my entire stay and the room felt run-down and old I think some black stuff growing on ceiling in bathroom. Needs some updates maybe fresh paint better lighting. For the price I expected more
