Penang, Malesia: hotel sul mare

Bella posizione sulla spiaggia. L'hotel era come descritto, l'ho visitato all'inizio della bassa stagione con pochissimi ospiti in hotel, la piscina chiudeva alle 18:30 tutti i giorni, solo 4 stazioni TV locali in TV, il Wi-Fi funzionava bene ma il servizio era disponibile solo nella nostra camera, un famoso bar sulla spiaggia è annesso all'hotel con un fantastico spettacolo di fuoco (provate il fish and chips), la colazione a buffet era un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo se prenotata insieme alla camera, abbiamo scoperto che andare presto (08:00) era il momento migliore per andare al buffet,

Adoro le vibrazioni dell'hotel. Adatto a chi ama la calma e il posto tranquillo. Tuttavia la mia esperienza negativa che ha rovinato tutto l'umore è stata quando mi hanno addebitato il check-out posticipato senza informazioni sulla ”tariffa” del check-out posticipato. Di solito alloggio in tutti gli hotel a 5 stelle a Feringghi (ho già provato tutti gli hotel a 5 stelle a Feringghi) anche a parte Feringghi gli hotel a 5 stelle non ti fanno pagare 1 ora per RM54 come Lone Pine. MI HANNO ADDEBITATO RM108 per 2 ore di check-out posticipato dalle 12 alle 14 per l'hotel Marriott. Questo è inaccettabile. Voglio sottolineare il servizio di un hotel a 4 stelle come il tuo che non consente il check-out posticipato, deve essere puntuale alle 12, deve essere informato in anticipo l'ospite. Ho fatto il check-out posticipato fino alle 14 perché prima mi metto in camera. Di solito la receptionist chiama dalle 12.30 alle 13 per informare se è possibile o meno il check-out posticipato e se è disponibile la tariffa. MA PER LONE PINE. NON chiamare e NON dare informazioni sul check-out posticipato. Quindi ho pensato che fosse ok come altri hotel a 4-5 stelle e per gli hotel sotto ”MARRIOT”. Mi dispiace perché non ho ricevuto informazioni sulla tariffa per il check-out posticipato. Il mio consiglio è per le persone che di solito hanno familiarità con i servizi a 4-5 stelle. Questo hotel non li fornisce. Riconsiderate questo hotel che non vi consente di effettuare il check-out posticipato dopo le 12:00. Dovete partire prima delle 12:00. ALTRIMENTI VI FARANNO PAGARE RM54/ORA.

Unfortunately, my stay at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang was disappointing, especially considering that I paid around RM3,000 for two nights in the Rasa Wing. The hotel is clean and the staff are generally friendly, but the entire property feels extremely outdated — from the exterior and lobby to the rooms. The room had a very hard bed, an old non-Smart TV with no YouTube or modern features, and the toilet blind was not working properly, leaving a gap where people outside could still see in. Overall, the room felt like an old hotel room with very little modernisation. The Rasa Wing benefits were also disappointing. The afternoon tea and evening cocktails were average, with limited variety and quality that did not feel up to a five-star standard. The evening cocktail selection in particular was very limited and boring. Service was friendly but extremely slow and disorganised. I had requested and reconfirmed a complimentary birthday cake/decorations for my father’s birthday before arrival, but nothing was ready when we entered the room. The cake and decorations only arrived later in the evening while we were already in the room. Even the minibar was empty and only stocked later. The check-in and escort to the room were also confusing and slow. For comparison, I paid a similar amount for my stay at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, which is also an older hotel. However, the experience there was completely different — the hotel is beautifully maintained, comfortable, updated and truly feels like a five-star property. The service, room, food and overall experience were exceptional. Being an older hotel is not an excuse for feeling outdated. If Shangri-La Rasa Sayang is not planning to renovate and modernise the property, the price should be reduced. At around RM3,000 for two nights, I honestly did not feel that this stay was worth the money.

La vista dalla nostra stanza era sorprendente. Per una famiglia di 5 adulti, la stanza è abbastanza grande. Abbiamo anche avuto colazione inclusa nella nostra stanza. Tuttavia, la colazione era buona, si può evitare di stare fuori, perché c'è un sacco di crown là. In generale, un soggiorno molto bello a Penang!

We chose this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was truly a memorable experience. The hotel offers an excellent range of facilities and activities for both adults and children. There’s a mini theme park, kids’ playground, Adventure Zone, and the beach is just nearby, making it a great choice for a relaxing yet fun-filled family getaway. We were also impressed with the breakfast selection. There was a wide variety of delicious food, and everything we tried was enjoyable. The only thing we felt was missing was a sea-view room. Unfortunately, our room did not face the sea, which would have made our anniversary stay even more special. Overall, we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay. The combination of great facilities, delicious food, and a beautiful seaside location made our anniversary celebration truly special. We would definitely consider coming back again!

the location and hotel are great. the private beach is amazing. the facilities are as people said, quite dated. the aircon is noisy at night, and they charge you extra for another towel, and also make you go down to reception to get it. however, i am willing to overlook these for the amazing view. the side view is honestly good enough, especially during the day with the green.

Everything is so great, the room, kids club, pool, breakfast. Eventho I only took the deluxe king lower floor, it is still absolutely nice. Room is so spacious, it is just that the toilet is a bit small. All the facilities are top notch, really suitable for family travelling with kids. Breakfast has alot of choices. I will definitely come back and stay at higher floor and maybe for longer stay.

I had an excellent stay at G Hotel Gurney in the Executive Suite. The suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great view. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Penang. The hotel’s location is fantastic, right next to Gurney Plaza and within walking distance of many popular eateries. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire stay even more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge was a great addition, offering a quiet and comfortable space to unwind with complimentary refreshments. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of local and international dishes. Overall, everything from the room quality to the service exceeded my expectations. I would definitely choose G Hotel Gurney again on my next visit to Penang and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.

Ho apprezzato moltissimo il mio soggiorno al Mercure Penang Beach. È stato il luogo perfetto per la nostra breve vacanza pre-parto. Lo staff è stato fantastico: tutti erano gentilissimi, attenti e l'ospitalità eccezionale. Si sono assicurati che avessimo tutto il necessario e hanno risposto alle nostre richieste con grande rapidità. Ho anche fatto una richiesta speciale per l'organizzazione della luna di miele e sono rimasta molto colpita quando lo staff è venuto in camera con una torta al cioccolato. È stata una dolce sorpresa che ha reso il nostro soggiorno ancora più memorabile e felice. Le strutture erano pulite e confortevoli e l'esperienza complessiva è stata fantastica. Consiglio vivamente questo hotel a coppie e famiglie. Torneremo sicuramente. Grazie Mercure Penang Beach per i meravigliosi ricordi!
