Regno Unito: hotel con bar nella provincia di West Berkshire

We stayed at the Crown and Garter to kick off our Test Way expedition. It’s about as close as you can stay to the start (which is 2 miles away and steep climb!). Everything about our stay was exemplary. The staff were genuinely warm, highly personable and welcoming, going above and way beyond to help us - a perfect example of exceeding guest expectations. The room was very comfortable with modern decor and amenities as well as a plentiful supply of toiletries and teas/coffees. We ate both dinner and breakfast. These were reasonably priced, arrived promptly, good portion sizes and delicious. All in all we can thoroughly recommend everything about it. It is far and away the best accommodation of this type that I have stayed in. Thank you C&G, keep doing what you’re doing: it works!

Cleanliness - 3/5. For the most part the room was clean and looked amazing. However, underneath the bed and behind some furniture there was a lot of dust. Location - 5/5. We wanted a hotel in the vicinity of Goring and it delivered. Being next to the river is also a bonus. Service - 5/5. We didn't require much staff service but when we did, e.g. check in or check out, they were both friendly and efficient. Amenities - 3/5. I was very happy with the amenities provided in the room. There was a good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits, and there was milk in the fridge. However, my fridge made noise all night long and kept me awake, so despite the advantage of having a room with a fridge, it was quite an uncomfortable experience.

Nice pub with friendly staff in a good location. Meals in evening were average breakfast to be honest was poor. Had full English with cold baked beans and other elements were both not very hot and had probably been there since earlier in the morning. Room ok on the small side and when arrived was cold. You’d think as they know you are coming they would turn the radiator up to make the room warm and inviting. Windows externally could do with some new paintwork.

Ho avuto un bel soggiorno qui, solo una notte veloce, ma mi piacerebbe rimanere di nuovo. Il pub è stato molto bello e si trova a soli 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria. Tutte le camere hanno un tema diverso che era chicco. L'unica cosa che suggerisco nella mia stanza (sala 6) è di sbarazzarsi di alcuni dei mobili e del letto chiuso, come sembrava pieno di persone e difficili da muoversi intorno alla stanza. The Six Bells is located on the edge of a very well-kept little village in a lovely landscape. The staff is very friendly and creates a pleasant atmosphere. The food is very good and reasonably priced, and the breakfast is individual and delicious.
