Church of St. Afanasiy the Great

Lovely church

with an apse set up the slope of St Vlas. Very well attended as worshippers had to stand outside. Had a pleasant rustic feel and women all wore head scarfs.

A must visit place if you love Bulgarian history .need sensible shoes as cobbled streets .would take a notepad and pen so you can remember the names as there are quite a few churches dotted around

This church is sitting outside of tourist's roads - just behind of the Post office on the central square of Sveti Vlas. Very quiet place but open almost always. Nice people working there and very old ...
