Kiri Island is located in Lake Onega. The most convenient place to go here is Petrozavotsk. It takes about an hour and a half to get to Kiri Island by boat. There are four hours of free activity on the island, and then an hour and a half to return. The 22 onion-headed wooden churches on Kiri Island are the cover of the LP Russian manual and one of the World Heritage List. The church and bell tower are made of pure wood, all of which are interlocking and the whole building is not made of a nail. The building has been in critical condition and needs repairs. Before leaving, I read some travel notes and found that I had been in a state of repair. I considered it or decided to take a look at it on the spot. Sure enough, because it is located in a high latitude area, there are only a few months of repairs per year, so the overall maintenance work is slow. The four spires above the church were removed and set aside when we went, and none of them seemed to be finished in two or three years. But it was a bonus to observe the wooden onion tip from a recent distance. The clock tower can be visited at an extra fee, and you can climb to the top to see the beauty of the island, which is definitely worth the fare.
