Strenuous but worth it.

It is so good to come across a National Park in Japan. We took the cable car up to the top then walked back down, stopping at all the scenic or Buddhist places of interest on the way.

Wonderful hike - but snakes and lots and lots of stairs

Hike Up The Mountain

In order to get up the mountain you have to walk through the woods. It's not for the faint-hearted as it's quite a climb, but it is very secluded and away from the crowds.
