Very impressive to visit the oldest Syriac Orthodox monastery in the world (397 ) and still in use. The monastery gives insights in 1700 years of history. Also great view of the surrounding.

Mor Gabriel is definetely a place to visit if you come to Mardin. You will get a guided tour of the whole complex. The guide was very nice and had a lot of interesting things to say about the monaster...
