Worth a stop to touch history

Drove past it before realising what it was. Turned round and parked across the road from it. Spectacular to see such a preserved Roman gate.

Surprisingly well preserved

This old Roman city gate reminded us of the one in inTrier. Though much has been altered through the ages, the core is still intact.

Wheres the signage

Ooops drove past it.. good job i have excellent peripheral vision.. found somewhere to park just up from the of outside the attached church and explored. Nice to visit a standing Roman artefact. Well...

Impressive!

Not many towns have gates in such good condition. There is another one on the other side of town but not complete.

Nice to pass by

If you drive, just make a little detour. It is in a better shape than the Port d'Arroux, but a bit out of the way.
