SSupasaintLocated about 7km north west of the town, the staff are all friendly and helpful. I have rented a small motorbike to get me around, a necessity which means I can go where and when I desire, small money so no problem!
Have been to the cemeteries and museums to pay my respect to ALL who suffered during those darkest of days. I have also been to the original wooden bridge constructed by the POW’s and others, it is located in the JEATH museum adjacent to the bridge that is in use these days. Entry cost 50 Baht, and there is so much to see that I took two hours inside, would recommend a morning visit so you can view the many items and read the facts behind them at your leisure.
The museum has been set up by a local man and is most definitely worth visiting. 100% value for money! I mentioned to a Thai man inside that we were so grateful that people around the area did try to ease the suffering of the POWs, risking their own necks by doing so.
My mother was an innocent child at 7 years old, alongside her mother and little sister she waved goodbye to her father, John Francis Egan, he said he was going to work for a while!! After working in Turkey, his ANZAC unit were moved on to Italy, to partake in one of the harder campaigns of the war. His life was taken by a German bullet at Mount ******, alongside many many others!
Please understand how one can feel. I try my hardest to be non judgmental and tolerant these days. I have not walked in your shoes and do not know your story.
“Footsteps in the sand” comes to mind at this moment. I have PTSD myself, and I knew coming to Kanchanaburi may get emotional, and it has.
Now my mother is 88 years young, and became a great grandma for the second time two weeks ago. Apologies if it got too personal, started as a review of the Phoo Tawan hotel.
Words are insufficient, our gratitude to all who risked their own lives and those that paid the ultimate price.
Life is precious, please enjoy the moment.

AAlvinOngIt’s a simple hotel. Has lots of parking space beside the building. Room has complimentary bunch of bananas, few pieces of sponge cakes, coffee and tea and 2 cans of Singha soda drinks. Has a clothes rack at the balcony. A recliner chair. Comfortable bed, quiet air con. Water pressure is good. Strong Wi-Fi. Nothing more to ask for. Everything we need is there. At night no reception, but the key card will let you open the lobby main door, another door that lead to the lift. So is double security system. About 1 km to Jeath Museum, 1km to JJ Night market, 650m to wash and go laundry shop. We love this small little hotel.

UUtente ospiteHo prenotato per una notte, volevo partire per Bangkok prima della mattina seguente. Quando ho ricevuto la ricezione, quando ho informato che c'era un autobus che andava al Parco Nazionale di Erawan, ho deciso di rimanere ancora una notte.
Il personale della reception è uscito più volte per assicurarmi di prendere l'autobus che ho svoltato proprio davanti all'ostello.
Il punto che vorrei porre in questa posizione è che si può incoraggiare i viaggiatori liberi e facili a rimanere un giorno o due più a lungo se vi sono luoghi di interesse in una posizione di facile raggiungimento.
Ho avuto un bel giorno nel parco e una notte più tranquilla all'ostello thd. Molto consigliato!

Raccomandi 100% di rimanere più di 1 giorno in questo piccolo paradiso vicino alle fantastiche cascate di Erawan. 🧡 Io sarò di nuovo l'anno prossimo Nan 🙏

PPui Yu JeffreyThe hotel is nicely tucked away in one of the quieter alleys near Saphan Kwai Yai station. It is about 10-15 minutes walking distance from the station but definitely reachable on foot. Breakfast was very unique with three choices and the staff had excellent hospitality and spoke fair bit of English. I would definitely come back for another visit.

TTravisOA short 5-7 minute grab ride from either the Kanchanaburi bus terminal or the train station. Check in was smooth and the front desk managed to fully meet our preferred room specifications. Depending on the hotel’s overall occupancy rate, one may have a full buffet spread (which we enjoyed the variety) or, a partial one (with one selected main course). Room is clean and spacious for the price paid. The shower head could be improved to have a better flow of the water. Gym equipment would require some improvements as well. Other than these 2 minor aspects, we will return to stay especially it’s within walking distance the delicious On’s Thai Issan Vegetarian restaurant.

Nnewdavichจองมาพัก2คืน ช่วงปลายเดือน มีนาคม 2025 ได้ห้องชั้น2 ในอาคาร C (ตึกในสุด) ต้องเดินขึ้นบรรไดไปชั้น2 กรณีได้ชั้น2 จะต้องจอดรถที่โซนตรงกลางของโรงแรม ไม่เหมือน ห้องที่อยู่ตึกอื่นๆ ที่จะมีชั้นเดียว ได้ห้องไหน จอดรถด้านหน้าห้องได้เลย // โดยรวมถือว่าดีปานกลาง ก่อนมาได้อ่านรีวิวคนอื่นมาเยอะก่อนตัดสินใจ คนจะชมในเรื่อง ตอนกลางคืน มีความเงียบสูง ตอนนอนจะมืดมาก แทบไม่มีสิ่งรบกวนเลย ซึ่งก็จริงมาก ไม่มีเสียงรบกวนเลยและห้องมีผ้าม่านที่ปิดแล้ว มืดสนิท สำหรับคนหลับแบบต้องการนอนหลับสนิท น่าจะชอบ
ห้องกว้างดี ดูกว้างกว่าปกติจากโรงแรมอื่นๆ เฟอร์นิเจอร์ในห้อง ให้มาดี มี TV ตู้เย็นมินิบาร์ โต๊ะทำงาน กาน้ำร้อน (ไม่มีกาแฟให้นะ) ไดร์เป่าผม น้ำ2ขวด มีเครืองทำน้ำอุ่น มีขวดแชมพู บาร์ทครีม ให้
เราจองห้องแบบถูกสุด ไม่มีอาหารเช้ารวมในราคาจอง ซึ่งไม่เป็นไร ปกติไม่ทานข้าวเช้าอยู่แล้ว
จุดที่อยากให้แก้ไข 1. แอร์ในห้อง เหมือนจะตัวเล็กไปเมื่อเทียบกับขนาดห้อง ทำให้ตอนเปิดแอร์แล้วกว่าจะทำความเย็นได้จนเย็นขึ้นภายในห้อง ใช้เวลานานกว่าปกติ รอ2-3ชม. ถึงจะเย็น แล้วเรามาพักในหน้าร้อน กลางวันคือร้อนมาก แล้วพอแอร์ตัวเล็กไป และทำความเย็นได้ช้า จึงหงุดหงิดในจุดนี้
จุดที่อยากให้แก้ไข 2. - กลางวัน ห้องดูมืดไป ไฟในห้องเป็นแบบ ดาวไลท์ สี warm-cool 5 ดวง มีความรู้สึกช่วงตั้งแต่ประตูห้อง จนถึงกลางห้อง มันมืดเกินไป เป็นเพราะว่า หน้าห้อง เขามีกระจกใสนะ แต่ด้านนอกห้อง มีระแนงไม้ ทำเป็นฉาก บังสายตา แล้วแก้ไขตรงนี้ไม่ได้เลย เลยทำให้รู้สึกว่า แสงธรรมชาติเข้าห้องน้อยไป จริงๆ เอาระแนงไม้ออกไป น่าจะดีกว่า เพราะตรงหน้าต่างกระจกใส มีผ้าม่านให้อยู่แล้ว ลูกค้าเลือกเปิดปิดผ้าม่าน เพื่อกำหนดปริมาณแสงเข้าห้องเองได้ แต่พอมีไม้ระแนง ทำให้ห้องมืดไปเลย ปกติ จะเป็นคนชอบทำงานคอมพิวเตอร์ในห้องพัก แต่โรงแรมนี้ ทำให้ความอยากทำงานลดลง เพราะควบคุมแสงไฟในห้องไม่ค่อยได้
3. ไม่มีโต๊ะข้างเตียงเลย ปกติไปโรงแรมอื่นๆ ก็จะมีให้ เพื่อวางมือถือ นาฬิกาบอกเวลา หรือของมีค่าอื่นๆ ไว้ใกล้ๆหัวเตียง พอที่นี้ไม่มีโต๊ะหัวเตียงเลยรู้สึกแปลกๆว่าทำไมไม่มีนะ
เลยต้องแก้สถานการณ์ ด้วยการเอาเก้าอี้ไม่ แบบไม่มีผนังพิง มาวางแทน
ส่วนอื่นๆดีนะ พนักงานบริการดี พูดจาดี แม่บ้านดูแลดี

SSunnyLa posizione è piuttosto decente, vicino al mercato notturno JJ ma lontano dal Safari e il mondo elefante.
Il servizio è generalmente grande, amichevole personale sul resort e una bella piscina.
La stanza è allil-down ma ben mantenuta.Sarà meglio se la potenza idrica dal doccia può essere maggiore, perché il flusso è piccolo e lento anche per un piccolo uomo.
