Regno Unito: hotel con spa nella provincia di Lancashire

The Norbrek Castle must have been lavish and upmarket in it's day but sadly looks sad and depressed now. However, we knew this when we booked and opted for it because of it's good points, the location is good with bus and tram stops outside, there is plenty of parking with an assured chance of finding a space if you take the car out and return, the room was as clean as it is possible to clean an old property with clean bedding and towels, the breakfast is basic but again satisfactory and the staff helpful and friendly. We did not, on this occasion use the pool or any of the entertainment facilities. All in all an ok choice for a couple of nights as somewhere simply to sleep

The hotel and entrance are great, no complaints there. I’ve been a regular at another hotel within 5 miles of here, where the facilities are immaculate and the rooms are always meticulously clean. So I had high expectations. On walking into my room (250), it was freezing. I immediately turned on the electric radiator, but was woken up at 2am by the thermostat flicking on and off repeatedly. The digital screen kept lighting up and going off it felt like there was a rave in my room. Highly annoying and not conducive to a good night’s sleep. Before bed, I went for a shower and splashed foamy suds around as you do. After finishing, I was washing down the inside of the shower cubicle and noticed what I thought were leftover soap suds near the door handle. I went to wipe them off and I can tell you now, they were not soap suds. Absolutely disgusting. The previous occupant clearly lacked basic hygiene, and although it shouldn’t be expected, the cleaners really need to have a keener eye for detail. This sort of thing should never be missed. We had two rooms booked. 1 room was with elederly parents! The room given was a fair walk and was quite far from the reception area with no assistance only verbal directions. It would've been nice to have had some assistance from staff. When we got to the room the sink plughole was blocked so I rang reception to get it fixed, didn't happen! Questioned reception duty staff and he lied and he said he had it fixed by maintenance when no one even came to look at it! This isn't the service we expected from ‘Mercure’ standard. Leaning over the bath to brush our teeth and everytime we needed to wash our hands after using the toilet we had to use the bathtub. Not sure I read anywhere but to use the swimming facilities the adults have to pay £10 fee. Other than that the hotel is near local shops/motorway as well.

Fab place lovely lodges outside them could do with little clean but suppose it's nature the inside clean an homey all's u need is provided aswel the balcony was amazing way lead onto lake it's self so my son could b up close to ducks without being in water there is watersports shop bar restaurant playarea in an out crazy golf walking around lake is nice and central to go out exploring Windermere 30min drive and had an amazing day there also little chippy 5 min drive on north road think was called was lovely food and ok priced to

It’s a decent place to stay, I had an event to attend at the hotel so I just booked a room there to save transport costs. It’s alright for a short trip.

We had a wonderful 4 nights at Thurnham Hall. The person who checked us in on the Sunday was very pleasant and welcoming. We walked the grounds and they were lovely and very well looked after.The Spa and pool were excellent. Thank you for providing such a lovely hotel for us to stay at and spend time visiting with our Lancashire relatives.

L'ambiente è ancora abbastanza buono. Se vivete nel nuovo edificio, l'ambiente sarà molto nuovo, ma le camere a letto matrimoniali sono in vecchi edifici, relativamente ridotti, il corridoio del vecchio edificio è meno isolato, il ristorante dell'hotel consuma molto, l'esperienza complessiva è buona. Dopo tutto, questo è il paese britannico, ma l'hotel di trattamento dell'acqua non ha un trattamento dell'acqua calda, Ha una piscina, le vacanze sono buone, ma un giorno o due bastano.

Everything is good except the bed sheet, it kept slipping off after sleeping in.  It's a flat sheet too small to tie down on the edge and corners.  We asked the staff for help and we tried to do it ourselves but it was not fixable because the flat sheet is just too small to secure the bed coverage.  The staff members are super friendly and they do try their best to help you.  The spa in the hotel is also great.  Overall the experience is beyond expectations.  The location is also great and safe.  

Lovely clean hotel. Very comfy beds. Breakfast was good. Reception staff were pleasant. Driver was the friendliest. Was a good stay but I wouldn’t say it wowed me and felt staff could’ve been more attentive. Also lack of room service, evening snacks, fridge, tv channels, alternative pillows etc. also hotel said they didn’t receive my special requests I’ve added to the trip booking which meant the birthday we were celebrating was overlooked.

My colleague and I enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is conveniently located right next to Lancaster University, where we had meetings. The room was clean, warm and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. I also appreciated the warm pool and the gym facilities. A very pleasant stay overall.
