Gansu, Cina: hotel pet friendly

We arrived at the accommodation when it was raining heavily. There were a lot of leaks from the roof, when we entered the room we simply saw that the mattress was completely wet as a result of the leak. We then moved to another room where there was a leak in the bathroom as well as a lot of dirt, including in the toilet. In the meantime, the girl at the desk honored us with a very tasty local watermelon. She apologized for the situation and moved us to another room. The next room was a huge room, I think it was their suite. The room itself was really comfortable and large, but it was simply full of spiders and cobwebs. We decided that we would still stay in the room despite its poor maintenance. They cleaned the room for us a little, but it didn't help, but we had no more strength to complain. We cleaned it ourselves so that the stay would be reasonable. It should be noted that the place only has a solar water heater, so on cloudy and rainy days there will be no hot water as happened to us on the day of arrival. We asked the staff in the evening for tomatoes and onions and they happily gave us them free of charge. This is noteworthy and thank you for that. It should be noted that the Didi does not always arrive at the accommodation location, they offer a paid shuttle, which is convenient. On the second day we went out to the dunes at sunrise, the guy at the desk insisted that we would be cold and gave us some kind of sand socks. Only when we returned did we realize that it was actually a fee of 20 for both of us (just like on the website, and much more than supermarkets in the area). We did not understand why we were not told that it was a fee, plus it looked used and did not come in a plastic wrap. Apart from this incident, the staff was nice and helped us with the shuttle (for a fee). The breakfast was great, and they tried to help us according to our vegetarianism. We wanted to extend our stay after cleaning the room ourselves and it was decent and good, but the price was high for us, which is perfectly fine and reasonable on their part, and we decided to leave.

Super awesome stay! The host was very responsive when answering my inquiries via trip.com or Wechat (both have built-in translator). She picked me up at the bus stop (bus no 34 from Tianshui) and drove past the gate of the scenic area. After checkin process, she helped me by driving to the ticket office for the grottoes then drove uphill to the grottoes’ entrance. She actually offered to pick me up again after finishing the grottoes but I decided to just walk back to the guesthouse (pleasant downhill walk for about 1.5km in nice weather). The next day she dropped me off again at the bus stop (not that far, around 1.2km away, possible to walk actually). The room is fantastic; cool, fast wifi, water kettle, working hot shower and thick blankets. Overall, it was an amazing experience to stay there and to enjoy what Maijishan Grottoes have to offer. Will definitely recommend this guesthouse to any friends who are interested to experience the scenic area.

Ho passato molto tempo a fare ricerche online, desiderosa di vedere il cielo stellato sopra il deserto del Gobi. Il giorno del check-in era nuvoloso, ma le nuvole si sono diradate quella notte, rivelando un cielo pieno di stelle. I bambini sono rimasti a bocca aperta! Quando si viaggia, si desidera sempre vedere paesaggi diversi. Il servizio dell'hotel è stato eccellente. Dopo aver effettuato la prenotazione, ci hanno contattato per consigliarci guide turistiche, ristoranti e attività locali. Posizione: si trova a circa dieci minuti di auto (circa dieci chilometri) dalla Crescent Lake Scenic Area. Le camere con vista sulle stelle hanno finestre a tutta altezza che offrono una vista sul deserto, e le camere con vista sulle montagne hanno un rapporto qualità-prezzo davvero ottimo.

Servizi: Sembra un po' vecchio, ma ho scoperto che è stato ristrutturato dieci anni fa e che tutto il legno era di olmo. Non credo che si possa definire vecchio, ma piuttosto un senso di vetustà. Igiene: È abbastanza pulito, ma vivere al primo piano potrebbe essere un po' umido per chi vive in zone asciutte. I stayed in this hostel for a total of 5 nights, with two breaks when I went on tours outside of Lanzhou. I have put in reviews earlier, so this is my final for the hostel that had begun to feel like Home. The hostel itself is very comfortable a stay: clean, comfortable wide bed with sliding door for privacy, nice seating areas... It is run by a family who take turns staying over so that there is 24 hour reception. All are friendly and kind, especially the father. The parents don't speak English but you can easily use a translation app; other guests will probably interact with you. The location: it is situated about a 5 minute walk to the Yellow River Tower, and a further 10 minute walk to the Lanzhou Old Street area where there is an amazing array of food options. Just outside the hostel is a Halal (Muslim-run) restaurant called (Ruhua 如华）which the hostel owners say have been in operation for 20 or 30 years. The hand-pulled (手抓) mutton that I had there was fantastic, even though I am typically not a mutton eater --- the taste is a delicate and balanced mix of light spices (I could taste a hint of ginger, for example) and saltiness. And the 八宝茶 is also excellent. A 7 minute walk to the right after exiting the hostel (past the above -mentioned restaurant) to the main road where many buses ply, you will find another good mix of local food options, especially in the morning. The hostel is conveniently located near the Lanzhou West railway station. There is a bus 136 that runs just outside the hostel and gets you to the railway station in 20 minutes. Hope this helps someone deciding on where to stay in Lanzhou, since there doesn't seem such a good range of hostels. I stayed in one of the tents on the top floor of the hotel. The tents are set up quite nicely, conducive to a feeling of privacy -- they're located in a quiet, separate room with its own common area, and are remarkably spacious. The hotel owners are also incredibly friendly, and I was grateful for their help. The one substantially negative aspect of this stay was the bathroom for the tents. While the tents were located on the top (fourth) floor, their assigned bathroom was located in a closet space under the bottom of the stairs below the first floor (that is, at vertically opposite ends of the building!). Not only was this bathroom closet-sized, but it also felt like a closet inside: it was equipped with only a squat toilet and an old, stained sink with a crude plastic faucet, and various empty bottles and mechanical equipment seemed to also be stored inside. There was no shower, no hooks or places to hang up anything like a towel, and no lock on the door. Fortunately, one of the hotel owners offered that I could temporarily use the bathroom (with a shower etc.) of one of the normal hotel rooms on the third floor while it was vacant. However, it seems like the massive difference in bathroom quality between the bathroom assigned to the tents and the bathrooms for normal rooms is greater than the modest difference in price between the two room types would merit. A few small changes -- better cleaning, a door lock, some hooks, maybe a shower head -- would substantially improve the bathroom experience for the tents. Otherwise I would at least advise potential guests to be conscious before reserving a tent space.

我們全家從江蘇自駕大西北環線，偶然刷到這家民宿，實地到店後完全超出預期，一進門就被精緻又充滿西北氛圍感的裝修狠狠驚艷到！整體佈置乾淨雅緻，細節滿滿，拍照特別出片，房間整潔寬敞，一家人住着格外舒心。 老闆和老闆娘待人特別熱忱周到，沒有一點疏離感，還貼心準備了本地特產李廣杏，清甜多汁，是獨屬於敦煌的夏日味道。全程有任何出行、景點相關問題都耐心細緻解答，省去超多做攻略的麻煩。 全程體驗温暖舒心，處處都能感受到店家的用心，真切體會到賓至如歸的愜意。下次再來敦煌，一定還會選擇入住，真心推薦給來西北旅行的朋友們！

La nostra prima tappa del viaggio è stata qui. La sera abbiamo contattato il proprietario per andare a Gobi Martian, dove abbiamo visto lepri e stambecchi. Il giorno dopo siamo andati a Danxia per l'alba; la struttura dista meno di dieci minuti a piedi da Danxia, il che ci ha permesso di evitare la folla della sera precedente. L'alloggio è in yurta, con bagno in comune. Tuttavia, è molto pulito e l'area panoramica è ben illuminata, quindi non ci si sente insicuri nemmeno se ci si alza di notte per andare in bagno. La cena in hotel è stata un hot pot, le porzioni erano enormi e ne abbiamo lasciato molto, ci è dispiaciuto sprecare tanto cibo. Siamo venuti a luglio, e di notte nella yurta faceva molto caldo, anche con il ventilatore acceso. Il giorno dopo, parlando con il proprietario, abbiamo scoperto che si poteva sollevare il telo esterno della yurta per far circolare l'aria, e così dormire sarebbe stato più confortevole. Quindi, se qualcuno viene in estate e trova troppo caldo, potrebbe considerare questa opzione. La sera fuori a Danxia è molto piacevole, fa anche un po' freddo.

Un hotel fantastico! Si trova a soli sei minuti a piedi dall'ingresso principale del monte Mingsha e dal lago Crescent. Le camere sono spaziose, perfette per le vacanze in famiglia. Il proprietario ha persino preparato la colazione personalmente, cosa che i bambini hanno apprezzato moltissimo. Il lago Crescent è stato davvero divertente e il cielo stellato era meraviglioso. La struttura ha un piccolo cortile con alberi di giuggiolo e pesco, che crea un'atmosfera tranquilla e rilassante, ideale per dormire bene. Il proprietario ha persino regalato ai bambini una bottiglia a forma di stella. Abbiamo soggiornato per due giorni e lo consigliamo vivamente!
