Big Sur is a rugged and mountainous section located between Carmel Highlands and San Simeon, California. This famous coastline is often referred to as ‘The longest and most scenic coastline in the United States’ making it a top destination for travelers from around the globe. We drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles, specifically for these moments when we could soak in the panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean from the coastline. And it was worth every mile of the drive. The experience was truly priceless—a million-dollar view, one might say. Words cannot describe the joy and satisfaction we felt as we stood atop the mountainous coastline, looking at the endless expanse of blue sea meeting the edge of the sky. This is a must-visit landmark for anyone visiting California.
