The positive first. It was a really good location and the rooms were clean. But. We did book two rooms with double beds and sea view. We also payed for it. But we didn’t get what we paid for. We got one double bed room and one room with a double bed and a single bed ( the single bed was really tiny btw). We went to the reception to ask because we were confused. And the service wasn’t good at all. The woman at the reception told us that they don’t have two rooms that kind. And we ask why they offer something like that. She couldn’t tell us. She told us she could get us a downgrade to a family room. But that’s all she could do. And then she just laughed at us. We think it’s really rude. The breakfast is not good at all. There is toast, some fruits, pancakes and oatmeal. Could be better. After we checked out we just went outside and I saw on my account that the hotel charged my credit card with 100€. So I went back inside. And the man looked it up and told me ups was a mistake and he returned the money. I just found that really odd.

Had a lovely stay at Scenic Hotel Marlborough to end off our trip in New Zealand. The hotel room was much bigger than our previous hotel stays, where we could comfortably open both our large-sized luggage to repack. Apart from the spacious rooms, we love how clean the toilets were and how tidy our rooms are done up by room service each time we return from our day out. The stand out however, was the service provided to us by the staff. We arrived around midnight as we had a long drive from Fox Glacier to get here but the staff was ever ready to receive us, and even gave us recommendations on what to visit around Marlborough during our stay. During our stay, there were occasions where we opted to buy food back to enjoy in our hotel room and the room service was readily available to provide us whatever we needed to have a lovely meal in, including plates, wine glasses and even condiments. Highly recommended!!

便利な場所で、近くにカフェやレストランがあるので食事に行くのも直ぐです。部屋は綺麗に清掃されていて、広いので荷物を十分広げられます。ホテル側の責任ではありませんが、2泊の予約をしていたのに、1泊目がホテルに情報が来ておらず、1泊しかできなかったのが残念です。 trip.comに改善を求めます。

KKultbueroSiamo rimasti all'Hotel Portage come famiglia con tre figli e abbiamo scelto la sua traccia come una delle fermate finali del nostro viaggio stradale di quattro settimane, che si è rivelato una delle nostre evidenze assolute. La posizione, il servizio e le strutture sono stati davvero impressionati, ma l'hotel è semplicemente stupenda, tranquilla e scenica, ma offre una vasta gamma di attività, che lo rende perfetto per viaggiare con i bambini. Nonostante la stagione alta, il personale era incredibilmente amichevole, attento e veramente orientato al cliente. Non si sente mai affrettato o ignorato, che non è sempre dato durante le vacanze occupate. Abbiamo apprezzato in particolare il fatto che molte attività non siano incluse a costi aggiuntivi, come canoe e padellari di guardia, e che vi sia anche una piscina, che è stato un grande plus per i bambini dopo lunghi giorni di esplorazione. Le camere sono ben attrezzate e ben progettate. Un piccolo, ma bello dettaglio è stato la bella selezione di shampoo e creme fornite nella stanza, che ha aggiunto un piacevole toccamento al soggiorno. Il valore per i soldi è assolutamente giustificato: il cibo era buono, la scelta del drink era più che sufficiente, e la lista del vino offreva qualcosa a tutti. In generale, un luogo fantastico per le famiglie e i viaggiatori che cercano comfort, natura e autentica ospitità.

UUtente ospiteWe took this as a 2 day getaway, expecting it to be top notch... especially given the price of $480/night PLUS $120 each to get there by water taxi. We stayed in Endeavour unit 18. Unfortunately, for the price, it fell well below expectations. No kitchenette as advertised, no TV, the 'King size bed' turns out to be 2 single beds of different elevations pushed together, with a 'step' between them. There IS a spa pool, but contains more filth than water - it was truly disgusting. In The restaurant we ordered an expensive meal but quickly found the Cray fish was far from fresh and the lamb rack was more sheep ribs than Lamb(!) We ate it, just because of where we are and it wasn't inedible, but for a meal that cost over $300 with wine it was a long way from what we would expect elsewhere at even close to the same price point.... and before we had even finished our meal, at just 8pm having sat down at 7pm, we were told the place was closing and could we please finish in our room. Although we had already paid for the 2 nights, we left after just 1, with no refund for the unused night - truthfully I didn't push the issue, I just wanted to get home. Will never return.
