Was told I am given a free room upgrade, but honestly I can't tell the difference. Also the room in the listing image was larger and brighter but the actual room I received was extremely rather grim looking, not to mention it doesn't even look like half the room size in the listing image. I also can't seem to adjust the aircon temp as it will remain at room temperature no matter what I set, however xining is quite cooling in general so it's still acceptable. In the room I was give, the glass panel at the washroom side had a severely cracked side which seem like it will break if I had closed the glass door too hard. I took a video immediately before using the toilet in case it really does get shattered, but luckily it did not Very unsafe nevertheless. The shower was the worst, every night I had to gamble if it will be cold or scalding hot water. I set the shower value slightly towards the warm side, and the water became scalding hot within seocnds, and if I move it to the cold side, it became freezing cold within seconds. Even if I set it exactly in the middle, it will give me either one of the extreme temperature. Had to keep adjusting from hot to cold so that it stay at a comfortable and safe temp range. The toilet bowl flush in a very stupid manner too, by first flooding the bowl from bottom up, this means that if you took a dump and it's a slightly sticky one, it's gonna stick. The electric kettle was so noisy when turned on that it sound like a train passing right beside my room. And speaking of noise, the sound proofing of the room was one of the worst of every single hotel I stayed in before. You can literally hear new occupants dragging their luggage or family chattering non stop right after they exit the lift. FYI, my room was literally the furthest away. Every time your neighbors from 3 room away turn on their tap water, you can hear it, even if that's like 4am in the night. The hairdryer is a safety hazard too. Tried to use it once and after plugging in and turning it on, smoke immediately came oozing out of it, so I immediately switched it off and remove the plug. Never used it since. Oh yes one last thing I have to say is that as a hotel PLEASE NEVER USE MOVEMENT OR VOICE CONTROLLED LIGHTINGS. While I wash up every day, I had to keep waving my hands like an ***** every few minutes in order to prevent the lights from going out. The detection is sooooo off that unless there's a huge action at the correct spot, it will not turn the lights back. This was absolutely annoyance. However the things I mentioned above are although not welcomed, but can be tolerated. Personally, the only thing I really love about this was the free tea. And that is also a highly recommended must try. I believe that's ******* black tea which is also a local specialty. I regret not trying earlier because at the latter of my trip, I no longer pass by stores that sells ******* black tea. Recommendation to the hotel is include a way to buy some of this tea. Overall, I will only recommend the hotel to someone who do not have any other choice or have a lower budget in mind.

Inizierò dicendo che la camera e il bagno erano ben progettati, il personale era amichevole e utile e il colazione era delizioso. Tuttavia, mentre la stanza era in generale pulita, quando ho lasciato qualcosa che poi si svolse sotto un'unità adatta, mi dispiaceva di vedere la polvere e la fibbia sotto. Evidentemente non era stata pulita per...bene... mai? Apprezzo che queste aree non siano pulite come le parti più visibili della stanza, ma per un hotel a cinque stelle questo è inaccettabile. Non mi aspetto di trovare tessuti sporchi e un strato di polvere e sporco in qualsiasi parte della mia stanza. Ma la parte più grave del mio soggiorno era l’incapacità di controllare la temperatura nella stanza, che era così calda che, nonostante il comodo letto, e tutto quello che dovevo andare con esso, non potevo dormire. Non mi aspetto che ciò avvenga in un hotel a cinque stelle (e non l'ho mai vissuto altro che qui e in un altro hotel Wanda a Hohot), io paghi per il lusso; controllare la temperatura della camera è un requisito fondamentale che posso fare anche in un dormello a 50 yuan per notte. Quando ho chiesto al personale al ricevimento la mattina seguente ho ricevuto il messaggio che il AC non sarebbe disponibile fino al 15 aprile perché «it’s cold outside». In primo luogo, non dormo fuori, dormo all'interno, sul 22° piano, dove è solo freddo, e non menzionare che è stato aprile, non gennaio, anche a Xining non è così freddo. In secondo luogo, in un hotel a cinque stelle, in qualità di ospite pagante, è mia responsabilità decidere se è caldo o freddo, non l'hotel. Per questo motivo, quanto la camera, il personale e la colazione siano stati, non mi fermerò di nuovo. Ho controllato e mi sono trasferito alla Hilton, dove potevo controllare la temperatura della stanza e riuscivo a dormire... in generale, qual è l'intero punto di un hotel.

We are travelling through Gansu & Sichuan and I booked the Mercure as a couple of nights for my husbands birthday. The first room we got was OK, a little shabby and not the cleanest but a nice bed and sofa and the aircon seemed good. My husband took a shower for all of 30 seconds and the bathroom, corridor and toilet completely flooded. So we moved rooms. The next room didn't flood but the aircon was pretty feeble and the toilet cubicle smelled. We didn't complain, having already moved once. This room was an over all improvement. The breakfast was pretty miserable, no coffee and mostly Chinese dishes. I had expected more from a western brand but nevermind, we ordered coffee and food to the room. Plus points - The staff are very nice and friendly, they accommodated us on the new room and gave us some treats as an apology. The bus to Kumbum Monastery is directly across from the hotel and you can arrive there in 45 mins, public bus number 909, 4¥. Starts at 6:30am. The breakfast is OK. There is a free laundry room, we did lots of laundry and it dried over night. We stayed in a non smoking room and it really was non smoking which is rare for China. It smelt fresh and the bedding and towels did not smell of smoke. There were however people smoking everywhere else in the hotel which seems quite common expecially in this province. Overall, I would stay here again but I think the price is a little high for the offering in comparison to some Chinese brands in the city.

La posizione del Boli Yabu Hotel è molto comoda. Ci sono molti negozi nei dintorni. All'arrivo abbiamo ricevuto un caloroso benvenuto dalla receptionist Xiao Yang. Ci ha aiutato con il check-in e ci ha mostrato la camera. Abbiamo anche ottenuto un upgrade gratuito in una camera con una bella vista. La camera era molto pulita e confortevole. Abbiamo ricevuto uno spuntino di benvenuto gratuito e un po' di frutta. Consiglieremmo sicuramente l'hotel e lo prenoteremo di nuovo quando torneremo a Xining.

L'hotel è vicino alla stazione ferroviaria, quindi è stato molto conveniente per noi. Le camere sono spaziose e il personale dell'hotel sono amichevole e gentile. Ci hanno anche dato colazione gratuita, che è un bonus aggiuntivo. Xiaojing dalla reception ha un grande servizio.

This is honestly the best deal in town. I have been coming to Xining for 10 years, stayed in different hotels each time. This is for sure my favourite one and the best deal in this range of prices. First, the location. Right in the city centre, with a lot of taxis coming by (this can be an issue for hotels in other locations, where taxis are more rare). It is super convenient and one can reach any part of town efficiently and quickly. There are many buses that go from here to anywhere in town. Second, the quality of the room, of the bed (super super cosy and comfortable, which is really nice after travelling roughly for two weeks in the nearby countryside), the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Very good hygiene products, not cheap toothpaste and soap like in other hotels. Third, and most importantly, the quality and warmth of the service. At the reception, the employees are very friendly and understanding, very warm-hearted, You feel really welcome in this hotel. They have helped me in several ways. especially Mrs Jane and Mrs Sunny Bai: fantastic people! They also speak English! Makes the whole stay memorable, enjoyable, relaxing. I will surely come back here next time. This is an upper-tier hotel made available with affordable prices. Thank you!
