Great beautiful hotel in the Heart of York with direct access to the train station. The bar staff are nice and we were treated with an upgrade by the wonderful lobby staff. Highly recommend.

The hotel atmosphere is classy, we able to take time to enjoy the fitness facilities, small but they have everything we needed. The staffs are very helpful, food and everything are great values. The only things we want to complain is the switches, need time to play with them! Close to town and station, memorable stay!

Fabulous hotel, walk through door to train station. Great selection of food and drinks, lively bar on one side and a quieter guest bar on the other. 5 minute walk to York centre but enough in site to simply stay put and relax. Staff were friendly and keen to help. Will be back in the future.

Great location next door to station. Hotel is beautiful. Had a lovely twin room. Large bathroom with walk in shower & toiletries. Staff lovely and helpful. Will stay again

Our first visit to the Milner although it was originally named the principal when booked… for the nearly £220 for the 1 night stay….I was expecting utter grandeur… disappointing… yes the lounge area on the ground floor was lovely, the staff in Peaches restaurant for breakfast were warm and welcoming with a lovely breakfast. The room (323) wasn’t ready for 3pm check…. After a 2nd radio call out to house keeping our room was ready..We were eager to see our room, well it was small for what I was expecting as we hadn’t booked a smaller urban room…. the wallpaper in the upper corner of the room and damp stain needs attention and were not what I was hoping for , considering the price. A lovely spacious shower bathroom lifted my dissatisfied feeling…… but we were really expecting more for the money we paid, for our first trip to York together. The Milner is ideally located for the train station and a short walk takes you into the lovely historic York sites and shops…

The doorway corner has no light, very dim. There are stains everywhere, on the chair, the carpet and the bed blanket. Only the washroom looks newly renovated but not well maintained. The best point is the York Minster view outside the small window and grand decoration on the lobby floor.

The hotel exceeded our expectation for under door voyeurism. I could watch my girlfriend get changed by looking under the hotel room door, from the public hallway. The curtains were mouldy, and wet. Room was large. Bed was comfortable. Was told that the hotel management would look after us on our next visit but I don’t know why we weren’t looked after in the first place. Why would we come again? 🤷🏽♂️

The location of this hotel is very good; you can enter the train station from the side gate of this hotel. It is a beautiful and lovely place, and my family do enjoy our time here.

Room 5 on -1 floor was allocated. The room was long and clean. However it was next to the staff service entrance and very noisy. I’ve stopped at this hotel several times from suites rooms and this basement room. I will never stop at this hotel again. On every occasion it’s been a noisy experience. You live and learn.

Only a one night stay. Smallish room on the third floor but clean and large bathroom. Breakfast was good but there’s a lot of cafes nearby with options. Location is central and right next to the station. Overall it’s a good place

We came by train. , so close to station , lovely hotel . Reception staff helpful and welcoming, storage for case both when arriving and leaving Short walk inro York , beautiful room with a bath We had dinner and breakfast , food all lovely , no complaints at all.
