Wouldn’t class this as a 4* star hotel. Walls in disrepair when walking around the building, TV on wall in room broken so they just added another on the stand leaving the broken one still on the wall, ratty curtains, dirty bath panels, worn light stand in room, not enough toilet roll or shower gel to last, no slippers to access spa, spa robes don’t fit if your a plus size. It’s a shame because it looks lovely online but really, it’s not worth the price tag. On a positive note all the staff were lovely.

On holiday on the island and looking for Sunday lunch, we were delighted with delicious food here, and friendly efficient staff in beautiful surroundings, hubby's beef was so tender and my nut roast a lovely treat ( not many restaurants served nut roast) with great side dishes not the norm carrots and greens here, and THE BEST roast potatoes I've ever tasted.

We have stayed at this hotel last bank holiday weekend, our room was stunning with lake view. Evening meal was really nice. Breakfast was delicious with lots of varieties, even we upgraded our cream tea to Afternoon Tea and again was delicious. Overall our stay at lakeside was delightful, highly recommend it to everyone looking for comfortable and luxurious stay.

Hugely disappointed! I had specifically booked the Summer Afternoon Tea (as per website) and confirmed that this particular menu was available on our special occasion date. We were NOT served this and on querying, the waiter confirmed that we had indeed booked the Summer tea but we had a variation on the classic afternoon tea - carrot cake, lemon tart (I don't personally like these and wouldn't have booked if I had known) 2 macaroons and a chocolate sponge. Website still has old menus on offering smoked salmon for all teas - we were given a tuna and a ham sandwich instead. Nice view, pleasant waiter, okay tea but not as booked so very disappointed. Staff need to know what is available and website needs to be updated.

This hotel is billed as 4 star but little in it lives up to this although all of the staff that we dealt with were very good. As you arrive you first notice the weeds growing in all the paved areas around reception and the uncut grass areas. We did go in to see if we could check in early but the receptionist told us no without even checking whether our room may have been ready or unoccupied the previous night? Maybe the hotel was full on Thursday night who knows? The room was clean although the bed was the smallest I’ve seen in a hotel room they did assure us it was a 5foot bed but I’m not convinced. We had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts. The dinner was fine but the breakfasts were poor especially for a hotel that is so expensive. On Saturday night we tried to have a bath before dinner and there was no hot water. Apparently this is unusual but although the water was hot later in the evening it was not the following morning. Our room was cold and we couldn’t get it to warm up but the receptionist kindly provided a fan heater which was great. We didn’t use the pool or spa but had we done so there were dressing gowns in the room but no slippers so I’m not sure what we would have done to get there and back?

Lovely afternoon tea. Great service. Wonderful views. Fairly standard afternoon tea but very tasty and well presented. This is a fabulous location with views across a vast lake. Set in the pretty village of Wooton near Ryde. Nice restaurant with lovely outlook.

My son and I had a spa session with afternoon tea. The spa experience was disappointing. It was too busy with children and loud people. It was too loud and not a relaxing atmosphere. We were unable to use the hot tub as it was rammed with people. We paid extra for treatments which were really good though and the staff were very nice . The afternoon tea was lovely.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a motorcycle tour of the island. The location was beautiful overlooking the lake with extensive grounds and despite being reasonably close to the road was very peaceful. The bus stops are very close and offer an excellent service around the whole island. The hotel is modern with light and spacious public areas and the bedroom also matched up being of a generous size, well decorated with good storage and a lovely view over the lake. The food was good, prices reasonable and a very good wine list and well stocked bar. The spa facilities were standard and could do with a bit of updating. The outstanding feature by far are all the staff within the reception, restaurant, bar and spa, who could not have been more friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Went for a Christmas party. Over priced drinks , food was incredibly average , tiny portions and they served plain pasta and undercooked veg as a vegan option. Had far better value for money at any pub .
