BIG4 Aireys Inlet

It’s a lovely little park but a very small pool really only accommodates a family of 4-5 it would be to crowded with more people. The boom gate on entry is not operational so anyone can come into the caravan park anytime day or night which concerned me. The games room was very dated & not very clean at all. The floor looked like it had not been cleaned for quite some time & was in need of a good wash. Our cabin was cosy & nice but the bathroom exhaust /light & fan was caked in fluff & dust & I don’t think it had been cleaned in years & I felt was a fire hazard. Also we could not use the fan in the main living area as the blades on the fan were rusted and filthy with dust. We also had no working balcony porch light which was another concern as it was quite dark at night out in the balcony table & chairs so we had to use candles. It also made using the steps hazardous as there was no light to see when using them. I did see new owners were going to take over maybe that’s why the current owners have neglected to do the proper maintenance in the cabin & the other areas which is a shame. I have stayed at a lot of big4 caravan parks & this one was very disappointing. The up side is it’s close to shops, the pub & beach & there were a lot of families with kids with their own caravans staying there.

Well located and very clean, we have stayed at this caravan park many times and always enjoyed the coffee van and lolly bag on check in. Unfortunately these are both long gone and a few other cost savings measures are evident in the rooms and around the park, with room rates increasing accordingly. Still a good option at Aireys Inlet.

Avys (the owner) is ultra efficient and has all the local information. But don't expect any bedside manners! The Cabins are clean and have the normal contents. We stayed in a small one bed (double) cabin which is all we needed. However the price was notably the highest we paid for a cabin of any size on our whole 30 day trip through NSW-Victoria and South Australia) and well above indicative price in group brochure. Hate to have stayed in a big cabin! Positives are it is a small park, quiet, clean and a convenient stop outside bigger towns. Outside chairs for smokers appreciated. Also a short distance to the local shop, cliff walks and the great pub which brews its own beer.

Our recent stay at the Aireys Inlet Holiday Park proved to be a nice quiet weekend with plenty of coastal walking, magnificent views and a very comfortable place to park the RV. The proprietors are very friendly and the park is clean and tidy with a great camp kitchen and level van/RV parking sites. The park has self contained cabins, caravan/RV sites (ensuite and non-ensuite) and camping sites. The park is located close to the general store, coffee shop, restaurants and the pub is a short walk down the road. It is also a very short walk to the beaches and cliff tops, not to mention the Split Point lighthouse. The park toilet/shower block is currently showing its age but this is going to be replaced very shortly with a brand new amenities block. We'll be back.

The staff is wonderful!!! Made our stay at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road so special with Christmas carols on Christmas Eve. Great, clean facilities. Easy bike ride or walk to the lighthouse and amazing beach below.
