Hotel a Aireys Inlet, Australia

VERY happily, I found Sunnymead by accident when my car broke down near Geelong on the way to the Great Ocean Road; so it was an unplanned stay. I limped into Airey's Inlet with the car spluttering, lucky to get that far, phoning around for accommodation. While my car was being fixed by Mark (Malibu Automotive, Anglesea, highly recommended if you need), I stayed in one of the beautifully appointed, newly renovated Sunnymead King rooms (#16) for 3 nights, 20/09/23 to 23/09/23 . I cannot speak highly enough of Sunnymead. Seriously. ”Excellent”/”outstanding” are inadequate descriptions and I have stayed in manyMANY Motels in S.A./Victoria/Queensland and NSW (I live in Adelaide, and drive at least 30,000Kms/year on biz). Sunnymead is exceptional! If you are holidaying in the region, do not pass GO, do not stay anywhere else (please note: I do not know the owners or have shares in the Business). Both Justin and Belinda at Reception are very likable, great communicators who do an excellent job. Polite and professional, warm and cheerful but without being obsequious, Justin and Belinda added a lovely human touch to the business of checking-in and meeting any requests I had (and I can be fussy about fine details). Thanks also to the ever-cheerful Kenny who went about his housekeeping duties with infectiously bright energy. Top bloke. Kudos to the HR person (owners?) who hired them. They're an asset to your business! But you know that, right? ;-) The grounds/garden/parking --- just great. I had a water feature outside my room at the bottom (pond) end of which were a couple of goldfish. The sound of the water trickling was very soothing. Some Motels have rooms which are oppressively colourless, grey, grimy and somewhat claustrophobic, with globes that barely light the room (if they work at all). My Sunnymead room was spacious, bright, modern and scrupulously clean with several additional touches eg Nespresso machine with pods, Turmeric and English Breakfast teas, freeze-dried instant coffee + sugar/milk. The 'King' bed (fluffy quilt on top) was actually two singles pushed together but the centre 'ridge' was well-covered by a comfy mattress topper. The firm mattress was completely to my liking but I can see that some people might not like the firmness and unusually large pillows (I travel with my own pillow; the years have taught me that Motel pillows can be hit-or-miss). The bathroom was lovely --- I'd say 'elegant' --- spotlessly clean and vastly better than many other Motels which seem to settle for grotty, sadly. The shower amenities are of very good quality. The taps took some working out but, mea culpa, I am of the separate hot-and-cold taps Generation (a Boomer). Sunnymead is on a busy road, but the sloping driveway means that traffic noise seems to go over the rooms and I was very happy about how quiet it was. A definite positive, compared to some Motels where traffic noise feels like the room is on a median ***** and passing trucks

Perfect spot with great amenities, very comfortable and enjoyable stay with a 3.5year old. Trampoline park is a win for the kids. Room was very clean, modern TV with all the streaming services for when the weather was bad and needed an indoor night. Walking distance to plenty of great coffee / food options. Staying again soon.

What a beautiful caravan park. Short walk to the river/ocean. Sites very spacious. Plenty of trees and it is really relaxing. The camp kitchen is amazing. Plenty of things for the kids to do. A couple of great playgrounds. Inside room for toddlers. One downside which has stopped us from staying longer…..the cost. Only stayed here for 2 nights. Other than the cost, I give it 5/5.

La visione delle tende eco è stata una splendida esperienza, le tende sono su una piattaforma, quindi si trova sopra la prateria dove i cangurosi e i cockatoi vengono e si sbarcano sul veranda. La piccola stanza è così accogliente con un comodo letto matrimoniale con letti elettrici e ci sono anche letti a bundle. Ci è una piccola sala/cucina con divano, come pure microonde, caldaia, tostapane e frigorifero, ma c'è un Weber bbq fuori. Nel coperchio c'è tutto necessario, tra cui una selezione di tè più caffè e shock caldo, olio di pulitura, nonché crockery e cuttery più latte nel frigorifero. Inoltre c'è una TV, un ventilatore e un riscaldatore che ha rapidamente riscaldato la stanza. È solo un giro di cinque minuti dalla città, ma si sente come se tu fossi in mezzo a nulla e le proprietà sono ben diffuse e private e con un balcone con sedie e tavolo si sente a uno con la natura. Ci sono pochi piatti di fuoco fuori tutto pronto per un divertimento per guardare la fauna e ridurre il freddo.Un posto davvero super per passare qualche giorno a correre da una bella coppia.

La posizione è buona, le strutture devono essere migliorate, la salute è comune, la rete è cattiva, vicina alla spiaggia, al ristorante e al supermercato, una stanza difficile per la stagione turistica, il prezzo non è economico.

Abbiamo visitato molti parchi di caravane in tutta l'Australia e, sebbene talvolta ci possa essere un comportamento irregolare, non ci siamo mai sentiti così insicuri in un parco di caravane. Se si desidera rimanere in un posto sicuro e avere pace e tranquillità sicuramente evitare questo parco caravan! Circa un'ora dopo che siamo arrivati, un gruppo di 5 uomini può arrivare al viaggiatore solitario che rimane vicino a noi e aggressivamente molestato e intimidito nel suo campeggio dopo che ha chiesto loro gentilmente di tenere il rumore al riparo, come era 10:00 e le regole del Stato del parco di carrivan: 'Ora tranquilla 10:00 - 7:00. Cominciarono a chiamarlo C***. Li chiesemo di fermarsi, e lasciarlo da soli, poi tre di loro sono venuti a molestare mia moglie e me. Temiamo di registrare questo in camera, se le aggrava ancora di più. La gente che si trovava sul campo dall'altra parte ci ha aiutati chiamando la polizia. Non c'era nessun guardia di sicurezza o personale sul campo per aiutarci. Il viaggiatore solo si e' imballato e lasciato perché era troppo insicurezza per rimanere. Quando abbiamo segnalato l'incidente alla direzione del carro, hanno offerto di trasferirsi in un altro luogo, così abbiamo imballato le nostre cose e ci siamo trasferiti. Anche se siamo stati lontani dagli ospiti inconvenienti, abbiamo dovuto spostarci. Chiedi agli uomini aggressivi di lasciare altri ospiti nel parco caravanico che si sentano al sicuro. Invece queste persone sono state autorizzate a continuare a rimanere nel parco caravan. Le regole del parco sono che eccessivo rumore, comportamento irregolare, Non sarà tollerato il cattivo linguaggio e le disturbi ingiustificati. Beh, apparentemente il sopra non corrisponde a questa descrizione. La tua sicurezza non è una priorità e ci è stato detto che succede qui tutto il tempo! Abbiamo anche ricevuto un testo dal parco caravan che i valori sono spesso rubati anche. grande! Per $66/night per un sito alimentato questo è anche molto superiore al prezzo. Anche le altre recensioni sul blocco di servizi in condizioni sfavorevoli sono vere.

The draw card here is the location. On the beach, beautiful. We made a booking for an ocean view room, when we arrived our room had been given to someone else at the error of junior staff. We ended up with a partial ocean view room. The staff handled the situation best they could and provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine which was appreciated. Despite the excellent location, the room was very worn out but clean. The bathtub enamel was coming off in patches which was a little gross to put your feet on. You can see by the beautiful landscape and design of the original hotel that, in its heyday, it would have been the height of luxury. Overall, we were disappointed by the rooms but thrilled with the location. There is a lot of potential here but the pricing doesn't reflect the standard of the rooms at this stage.

Terry and the team at the Anchorage are welcoming. The Motel is spotless clean and the rooms are brilliant too. Location is perfect for the foreshore and close to all the local shops, etc. We had a studio, bright and decorated clean, with a microwave and tea making / fridge. On site pool if you want one. Free parking. Support a local business. A fantastic one-night stay. Thank you (Liam & Jon), woof, to Ziggy!
