Eravamo un gruppo di 165 studenti e abbiamo trascorso una settimana a&t Holiday Hostel nel dicembre e siamo stati molto piacevoli sorpresi dalla nostra struttura. L'ingresso è andato molto veloce e senza difficoltà a troppi livelli di nostro gruppo, le letti erano molto comodi e le camere molto spaziose e pulite. L'ostello è situato fortunatamente in un quartiere residenziale, quindi è stato relativamente tranquillo. In bagno (ogni camera aveva uno) erano grandi specchi montati e accanto allo shampoo/gel da doccia ci erano anche pannolini cosmetici, che di solito conosco solo dagli hotel ma non da un ostello. Per quanto riguarda il buffet per colazione, posso dire che era più che sufficiente e che la qualità era molto buona (la miele e il formaggio sono anche prodotti locali). Abbiamo già ordinato il menu di cena al momento della prenotazione e anche questi erano eccezionalmente buoni (3-g in parte anche per i vegetariano). I ricevitori hanno sempre dato informazioni pazienti sulle domande (in particolare sui nostri studenti), che si tratti di molte cose da fare o meno al momento. L'ostello si trova in una parte leggermente meridionale di Vienna, ma attraverso la metropolitana vicina si è potuto raggiungere molto rapidamente il centro della città (Stephansdom). Tutto in generale è stato un soggiorno molto piacevole, il rapporto prezzo-benefici è eccellente e posso solo consigliare l'ostello più caldamente.

Spent one night at this hotel. We were upgraded to a superior room on our arrival. Fast check in, beautiful large room with a sofa, high ceilings, very comfy beds, amazing view from the upper floor! We appreciated the underground parking which comes at extra cost (well worth it)! We loved our stay and would consider this hotel in the future!

Abbiamo prenotato una camera quadrupla con un letto matrimoniale e un divano letto. Arrivati in hotel ci hanno dato una stanza con un matrimoniale e un “divano letto” che non era un divano letto. Per prima cosa, avendo pagato per 4 persone ci aspettavamo che i posti letti fossero 4, ma il divano letto non permetteva a due persone di dormirci in quanto era piu piccolo di una piazza e mezza. Inoltre questo era coperto da un lenzuolo “appoggiato” che non copriva nulla e che faceva vedere tutte le macchi sopra. Era rotto, pieno di polvere e macchiato. Condizioni non accettabili. Nonostante questo, dopo ore di discussioni, ci è stata cambiata la camera.

Room- The room was renovated 3 years ago and seems VERY new which was a big plus. However: NO fridge/minibar, NO phone in room , NO table, NO chair, NO couch/sofa, NO closet (hangers available), NO English Channel on TV. NO Netflix (even though there’s a Netflix button on the remote control). Air conditioner worked fine (cooling). Drapes managed to block outside light in by about 90%. Wi-Fi- Wi-Fi was at a low quality and speed and disconnected much of the time. Hotel area- It’s difficult to locate the hotel from the street and there’s no easy visible sign. You enter through a passageway in the middle of a big building. The reception is located on 3rd floor. The rooms are on the floors above. Area- Billa plus supermarket nearby. Early check in- My experience in travelling around the world has shown that usually (in the large majority of the times), when arriving early, if the hotel has an available room they would let you in for free and not delay you until the normal check in time. I arrived at about 7 AM and asked to check in early. They had a room but requested an additional payment for this which made the deal for this hotel, which is not centrally located, less worthwhile. I wrote them beforehand that I request an early check in. It seems they sent a message about this which wasn’t received. (Had I known this in advance I most probably would have chosen a better hotel option (one that was more expensive but at a better location). Getting to town and airport- To get to town by public transport you can take a 10 minute walk to the number 1 tram on Windtenstrasse, that takes you to Karlsplatz station. From there you can take other forms of transportation like various U bahn routes. A taxi to/from the airport cost on Bolt €34.50. If you’re one person you can save by taking public transportation (or even a taxi) to the S7 train to the airport Tip: Save money- don’t take the CAT airport train (costs €14.50). Use the S7 airport train which does the same route to Wien Mitte station, (only 9 minutes more) and costs only €4.30. Btw, Some of this cost (S7 only) can be saved when purchasing a 24/48/72 hour transportation ticket. Breakfast- Relatively nice breakfast for a 3 star hotel: Eggs scrambled but precooked, cooked 3/5 minute eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, jams, buns, plain croissants, yellow cheeses, meat like salami and s*****en, fruit salad, some fruit, coffee machine, tea, cold drink machine, some cereals and yoghurt. La posizione è relativamente remota e il trasporto non è conveniente. Il servizio della reception è molto buono. Sono arrivato in hotel molto tardi a causa di un volo notturno. Ho chiamato in anticipo e ho fatto il check-in senza intoppi. La camera è pulita e ordinata e ha solo strutture semplici.L'Austria è molto costosa.
