I don't like posting negative reviews. I try to find positive things to say. But my stay here was the worst lodging experience I have had in many, many years. It looked pretty good online and the reviews here and elsewhere were decent. I don't know who is so happy with the place - when I got there it was obviously a bit run down and scruffy looking. I thought, ”Well, I'm here, hopefully the room will be good.” The first night my room was OK, not great but acceptable. Worn furnishings but fairly clean. Unfortunately the people next door had both music and the TV going loud with the door and window open, so I asked the front desk to deal with it. The neighbors were quieter for a couple hours and then got noisy again but I just put up with it. Then late in the night their bed started banging against the wall as they were going at it, so my first night wasn't great. I asked to move to a different room, which was a hassle but I did it. The second room wasn't quite as clean as the first, although not terrible (cleanliness-wise). Still, the worn furnishings and flooring made it feel a little crummy. Late that night, a woman at a nearby room started screaming as loud as she could and kept it up for 15-20 mins while pounding on the door, yelling, ”Open the F___ing door!”, ”Open the G__ D___ door!”, over and over. This went on until the cops came. A couple hours later, late in the night, she did it again but only for a few minutes and then stopped. The clientele at this place is questionable to say the least, as you can see from these two examples. There are junky old cars and trucks parked near the rear of the parking lot (abandoned? I don't know). I've stayed at the Motel 6 in 1000 Oaks twice and although it's a more ”budget” hotel, it's way better than this dump. The only positive thing I can say is that the guys at the front desk really did try to be helpful.

Ojai|0.93km dal centro città
We decided to go to Ojai for my wife's birthday on March 22, 2023. She thought it would be fun to stay in a place that was built the year she was born and so did I. The online photos and aesthetic are admittedly cool, but that where it ends. I get really peeved with a too cool for school” attitude in restaurants and other establishments in the hospitality space. That's this place. But aside from that vibe, there are HUGE issues with this “hotel” (motel really), chief of which are the PAPER THIN WALLS. Next is the bathroom. Remember. This renovation was done in 2020. So with Covid, wear and tear should be minimal by early 2023 when we visited. The bathroom door is made of particle board which was completely swollen and ruined by water damage from the shower that features a fitted glass wall that only covers half the stall. As a result water sprays all over the wall and floor and even if you try to use the bath mat, it's completely soaked after a shower. Poor, impractical design. The Daiken brand AC was also odd. I've used many mini-split systems, but this one did not feature a remote that operated as a thermostat. Sure, it had a temperature setting, but no readout out of what temperature the room was CURRENTLY at, so there is no way to know where to set the temp relative to that. The in-room coffee and tea consists of a kettle and instant coffee. No Nespresso or other coffee service found in other boutique hotels of this price range. I assumed they were encouraging us to come to the lobby to enjoy their coffee ”service” which features paper cups (okay fine) but no lids. Crazy. And Like seriously - do you think people aren't going to want to take their coffee away or back to the room? Where’s the kids?! Oh, and as a cherry on the top, add bad WiFi that only worked part of the time. Good thing our t-mobile data devices worked there. A cheap, ill-conceived cosmetic renovation does not a boutique motel make. Others have mentioned all of these things in prior reviews, so l'm not saying anything new here. Listen to them, and us. I don't know if there are better options in Ojai, but I know you should avoid the Capri.

Ojai
We stayed in The Double Queen Bungalow room number 14. The pictures ARE NOT HONEST. They purposely made it look WAYYYYYYY BIGGER with manipulative editing of photos. So that’s a VERY Los Angeles slumlord type of thing to to. Exactly what we drove away from but here we are. The bed linens + pillow covers “looked clean” but smelled like stale dirty water + dirt & sweat not being properly cleaned & sanitized off the sheets from PREVIOUS STRANGERS. That was so gross to me. No excuse. I killed 4 spiders throughout the night that I noticed pop up all along my bed! Hell no. The shower didn’t work. We turned it on, it filled up the tub instantly & no matter what way we flipped the old (unmarked) switch for the drain, it WOULD NOT DRAIN. And the bath was clearly not cleaned before we got there as it had small bugs, dirt, dust, and hairs come up to the surface of the water that clogged up the tub. So we had to go back home DIRTY after all our hikes. Gross! The chairs & table right outside our window. FOR OUR BUNGALOW was taken over by three men who literally just rudely took it over while they had their own entire larger table for THEIR BUNGALOW. They LITERALLY FACED OUR WINDOW & had all these devices & phones FACING US. 2 women alone. They also had a big dog that was BARKING (violates policy) that prevented us from being able to take our senior dog outside to the restroom and stayed stuck in our rooms until those men left! Our senior dog turning 17 is THE REASON we came here! That was super disturbing & ugly to me. That’s not very Ojai. I wish the staff could have directed them to their own table but they did nothing. It’s not my job to make sure guests feel safe & have privacy they paid for. I feel like we are owed some of our money back for that but we didn’t want to make it a big deal as it we didn’t want more of our time ruined with possible retaliation or rudeness from the staff. So that’s why I’ll leave this honest review instead. There’s also a dude doing ****** in the open STEPS AWAY FROM YOUR ROOM on the sidewalk across the way. So we are definitely coming back to Ojai but NEVER coming back to this hotel. They need to lower their prices for sure. I feel like they care less about ppl who book less expensive (still too expensive) rooms.

La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Ventura
2.7/543 Recensioni
The grossest place I have ever stayed! I have stayed at many LaQuinta Inns. Some are great, others not so much. WYNDHAM should be ashamed to have the LaQuinta brand on this mess but judging by the lack of a response to my email they don't care. The property needs basic cleaning/maintenance. The rooms need to new carpet and basic upgrades in the bathroom. The breakfast was a joke! No orange or apple juice, the machine was turned off/broken. Old pastries, cereal, coffee with regular cream and sugar. I stayed on a Thursday night ($120ish) and a Friday night ($240ish) I understand that Friday is typically more and wouldn't care if the room was not such a dump but this was just nasty. This month for my 2 days off (I am a 24/7 in home caregiver for a 95 year old man) I booked at Holiday Inn at the Ventura Marina with a harbor view for $40 more than what thos place squeezed out of me.
Holiday Inn Express Simi Valley
4.1/5105 Recensioni
I booked this hotel based upon three facts. I am an IHG Rewards Member. I trust the ”Holiday Inn' brand, and it was in close proximity to a few places my dad and I wanted to visit on a long planned father/son trip. I immediately knew I had made a mistake when we arrived and the entrance door to the room was on the outside of the building, not the inside. It looked more like a ”rent by the hour” type motel. There was nearly a one inch gap between the bottom of the entrance doorway and the floor. The furniture inside the room was worn and dated. The mattresses weren't ”Holiday Inn” quality. Housekeeping showed up after 6:30 one evening and copped and attitude when we told them all we needed were towels and wash cloths as we were checking out the next morning. The only reason this review gets two stars as opposed to one is the breakfast service. The lady who worked the dining room did an OUTSTANDING job. I'm sure whatever she is being paid, it isn't enough. I wouldn't complain if it weren't for the price we were charged for the room. Perhaps they were taking advantage of a couple of guys from out of town, I don't know. Regardless, they charged WAY too much for what we received! If I am ever in Simi Valley again and I will certainly seek out another option!

Hilton Garden Inn Oxnard/Camarillo
