Hotel Paraiso del Oso

An amazing family owned property! The ambiance is incredible and very rustic. The photos give you a great view of the place.All rooms are at ground level. Rooms were spacious with a wood fired stove for very cold nights. Lots of extra blankets were in the room. Great showers! The morning breakfast was incredible delicious. Note that the hotel operates on a generator, which means electricity ends each night after everyone is in bed. Internet is available only in the great room. Payment in cash is preferred as use of credit cards is affected by access to wifi. They can arrange great tours depending on what you are looking for!

The owner, Hugo, is friendly and helpful. Of course, he also offers tours, but not pushy. I went out exploring the area and we set a time and he picked Ip promptly. Site is ~ 5km out of town, but not much to ess as t/drink in town anyway. Good is good. There is no dinner menu. I told Hugo what I want and it was done. Price is very reasonable.

Loved this place. Hugo met us at the el Chepe train station easy to find with a sign and a large smile. Check in was seamless. A light lunch was prepared for us which was deliciou, just a preview of every meal here we had was super. Her soups are so flavorful. Could have asked for refills on each one but knew a big main dish was being served. So I waited and certainly was pleased. It happened to be my friends birthday so Hugo arranged for a birthday cake and music around the campfire! How wonderful and what fun celebrating with all others who were there. Sleeping was good, comfortable, quiet and dark. A wonderful place with great views from the inside courtyard. The second day we took a tiny bit strenuous hike up to the caves. The quiet of the woods. The peacefulness and the closeness was a great added bonus. The 2 resident dogs went from leading to following and off to exploring on their own.. but always came back to check on us. They added another element to our hike as we watched them play and rest with us. Be sure to ask about this hike. We took a great drive down into to canyon stopping in Urique and Guatemala ( i believe) . It is the vistas that you will see on the drive that you dont want to miss. Payment for rooms, meals drinks and tours are collected at the end of your stay. Was offered the option of credit card payment. Oh and they have a deep collections of books, hammocks which are available and there is a stack of board games to enjoy. .

La gente demasiado amable y gentil, todo es rústico pero bonito y limpio, en general muy buena la experiencia

Excelente atención por Raul, Hugo y Jaime, nos hicieron sentir en casa, y conocimos mucho acerca de la historia y tradiciones de la zona

Es un hotel familiar y realmente sí te hacen sentir como en casa. Esta a unos km de cerocahui entonces es tranquilo, de hecho atras del hotel hay un arroyo por el cual caminar. La familia que atiende el hotel es muy amable y son quienes ofrecen los paseos en la zona (parque barrancas, cueva de la cruz y cerocahui urique cerro del gallego) ademas que son muy flexibles para temas de horario y modificaciones en los paseos. El hotel tiene un lindo jardin y las hamacas y sonido de la fuente son relajantes. Me volvería a hospedar ahí!

Es un lugar muy bonito, las personas muy amables y atentas, totalmente recomendable, yo volvería a hospedarme aquí, sin duda.

Excelente experiencia, fuimos un grupo de amigos y todos quedaron maravillados, el servicio que ofrece todo el personal es de primera, además de sus instalaciones son de las mejores en limpieza, ubicación todo en general, ubicado a 2 km del pueblo y con muchos puntos de interés a sus alrededores.
