Hostel Oryx Tulum

Hostal Oryx no es solo un lugar para quedarse, es un refugio de calidez, alegría y conexiones auténticas. Me sigo hospedando aquí, porque aquí se viven momentos que se llevan para siempre en el corazón, amistades que trascienden y recuerdos que marcan. The staff at Oryx Hostel were very friendly and helpful. They offer great activities around Tulum everyday and you can rent bikes for an affordable price. It is also easy to get around town by foot or with collectivo. The pool was clean and refreshing, and the common outdoor space was enjoyable and peaceful. The breakfast was fruit and toast, and the kitchen was spacious and clean. My partner and I had a private bedroom (#7) and it was good, but having some hooks on the walls to hang stuff and more accessible surfaces to put down things would have been appreciated. The bathrooms could also use a bit of work (hangers on wall for towels, better shower heads and water pressure). We were supposed to stay 5 nights but ended up staying 3 because we couldn’t sleep at night. There was very loud music happening in the area until 3-4am every night. I don’t know if we just got bad luck or if this is a normal occurrence in this area, but due to the open nature of the rooms, there is nothing to filter out the sound. We ended up having to find another accomodation for our remaining nights, and we could not get refunded because we booked through *******. The staff accomodated us with free bikes for a day. Overall, it felt a bit pricey for what it is, considering we found a much nicer place in La Veleta for the same price (15mins walk from Oryx Hostel). I would recommend this place if you’re backpacking and looking for group activities and to be in a very central location.

We enjoyed out stay at this particular hostel. We found the staff to be lovely & inviting. A lot of them are volunteer. Breakfast is just toast & coffee but what more do you need? Bathrooms are basic, shower, sink, toilet - take jandals With our room we found it to be more open than expected, the lock on the inside does the job but can easily be opened from the outside, we got the full outdoor experience with reptiles coming for a visit during the night & the birds outside waking us up at 5:45am. On one night I’d like to note they had ‘live music’ that started at 10pm. The day trips are great, we loved our guide!

The hostel is a great vibe; you feel like you're in the jungle ! It's right on a busier street, but it's somehow mostly quiet. The staff is great, Taco (the hostel dog) is a little sweet heart. You can cook and store food easily, go for a swim in the pool and choose your own adventure. The beds are really comfy too. Plus the dorms have AC! I'll miss it.

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Lockers, drinking water, kitchen, hammocks, chill vibes, good outdoors and a pool. We stayed in a dorm which was air conditioned at night and the fans make it so that you can sleep sound even when there’s loud events happening in the city!

The place is a little green paradise. I’m not feel hot at all while outside is so hot. There is shady with trees, the wind blows luck, the music accompanies the leaves in the wind. Perfect for relaxing, sleeping in a hammock, or swimming, there are daily activities too. there is kitchens, free drinking water, and ATM, Bicycles for rent . Specail the staff is very kind, friendlly, good service mild . I’ve got offer to upgrade to private room with air condition . It’s 4 share toilat with bahtroom and It’s clean whenever I used it. At 23.00 they stop the music . Btw the music they open is Nice.
