The property is pretty dated having been around for so many years. We booked a room at the garden wing. Did not like the design of the bathroom without a seperate shower area from the bath tub.
Even though there are a wide range of activities around, everything is chargeable and very pricey. We tried to book the tennis court, they only provided rackets but was told to purchase our own balls for RM56 per tube.
Breakfast was alright. The only nice part about the property is the stunning sunset view and fine sandy beach.

Check in is super slow when you just arrived and excited to put your feet up and chill. The rest of the service including room service is excellent. Hotel room is super spacious and beds were super comfy! I enjoyed my stay despite the first impression on the super slow check in.

As a long-distance couple that can only meet with one another once every one to two months, choosing where to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday was even more important for me, and I can say with full confidence that I did not choose wrong in staying at Shangri-la Rasa Ria. I contacted them prior to my visit about possibly helping me out with planning a surprise and celebrating the birthday, and the staff were all extremely supportive and cooperative in planning out the details. On the day of the surprise, we originally had planned to have them organized at one of the outdoor bars overlooking the sunset, but because of heavy rain, the staff all helped me reorganize them at the lobby bar, with the band singing the Happy Birthday Song together with the staffs and the other hotel guests joining in. The overall experience was also absolutely wonderful, and we enjoyed the 4 nights we stayed there. Perhaps if there is one thing to keep in mind, it would be its location, as it is situated about an hour's drive from the airport and the city center (if not more depending on the traffic).

The resort is located around 45 mins drive from the city. Room is a bit old and worn than expected from the pictures. Staff are nice but the hotel mischarged MYR 7xx from my card for nothing I consumed; they did the refund after 2-3 weeks. There are lots of facilities and activities going on, I guess it'd be good for families

Overall the hotel was nice and located close to beach. The beach was clean and nice as well. The hotel has variety of kitchen to dine in and lots of options and cuisine.
Apart from that the hotel also has range of outdoor activities for kids and adults. You can always find something to do.

Hotel is just too great. Though remote, offers various types of activities for guests. Joined canopy observation, horse riding and firefly tour, all the guides of the activities were nice and friendly.

The beach is not that good for swimming, also a bit far from the resort. But good for appreciation of sunset. 😀
