The Babbacombe Hotel

Just home after a 3 night break by car after reading a glowing weather forecast for early April. Booked over the telephone and got just the type of room we wanted on the first floor overlooking Babbacombe Downs and the sea. We had no trouble getting the lift whenever we needed it. A member of the excellent staff, without being asked, helped us with our luggage up to the room. Any requests were met with immediate kindness and we felt really welcome. Very good team of cleaners ensure that both bedrooms and public rooms are kept clean. The position of the hotel is outstanding with both the shopping centres of Babbacombe and St. Marychurch within easy walking distance and well worth a visit. We were on a dinner B and B basis. The food was good value as it was varied , tasty and filling but perhaps not exactly gourmet. Both Non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks were available and orders were taken and paid for at the table. Entertainment is provided in the evenings and the ELVIS Tribute act was impressive. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay and would return.

Just back from a four night break which was lovely and what was needed. On arrival a bit tired and fortunately bay 3 was coned off so we just went in there which was fortunately our allocated space. Check in very easy and a sheet given to you with all required information upon. Our room, 27, had a huge balcony and sea view which we’d requested and we were not disappointed. Good comfy bed, staff very helpful. And we were only on the first floor too plus there’s a lift. Food is carvery which we didn’t realise before going but all worked well and all restocked frequently. Chefs very good. Dinner, went in a little later and missed the rush but still adequate food and as said restocked anyhow. Location is super and would definitely recommend booking car parking beforehand. You pay for all drinks as purchased so no big bill at the end and quick to check out too. Close by the vehicular railway, sadly the one thing we missed doing. Visit St Mary’s Church precinct, a 10 mins walk away, a lovely coffee shop called the Coffee House, very good. Also the Babbacombe model village was excellent too. Theatre less than 5 mins walk away, check out what’s on as so close, Torquay, bus nos 22 or 11, go to Torquay, takes about 12 mins. Return the nos 22 is now every 20 mins. Thank you to all who made our stay very welcoming. Met some lovely people, guests and locals alike. Babbacombe is very clean, very welcoming and very good, plus we were lucky with the weather.

Babbacombe Hotel Staff... you are incredible. This hotel is such a unique gem. The staff make this hotel; The hotel itself is situated overlooking "in our opinion" the most beautiful, gorgeous, peaceful, relaxing, tranquil and serine views ever . we have the best time at this location. The food is appetising, satisfying, luscious and there is such a banquet of choice.
