Our third visit to Newburgh. Adrian works so hard and is very welcoming. Again we had a good spacious room with an excellent shower. Breakfast was first class and the location within a short walk of the town is perfect. It will always be our first choice when we visit Torquay.

A beautiful guest house, we were made so welcome by Adrian, greeted upon arrival, showed to our rooms, he gave us advice about surrounding area. Room was comfy with tea, coffee,biscuits etc. TV in room and ensuite. Breakfast was superb and beautiful cooked. Cereal, orange juice, pan au chocolate, full English breakfast with proper plump pork sausages, toast, preserves, proper coffee served in a caffetire. Highly recommend and we will definitely be staying again. Thanks Adrian

Stayed here for 2 nights to attend a band contest at the Riviera Centre. No onsite parking however we managed to park on the road with no problems and that was arriving later on a Friday evening. 5 mins walk to Riviera Centre and approx 10 mins to the bars and restaurants. Lovely warm room, comfy bed, clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely as well. We will hopefully return soon for another weekend break.

How lucky I was to find this guesthouse. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Lovely room and roomy ensuite. Nothing is too much trouble for Adrian. Cooked breakfast great with lots of choice. I hope to stay again.

We stayed at Newburgh Guest House during our long weekend in Devon. We enjoyed it very much! The hosts are very welcoming and helpful (even accepted an urgent delivery for us, allowing us to enjoy our day out). Breakfast was very yummy and generous, and the room was very clean and had everything we needed, including a very comfy bed. Very much recommended!

Stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good location, only 10 minutes to the centre of Torquay and there is parking outside - note on parking, it is roadside so can be a bit hit and miss but we always managed to find a space. The room was well presented and the bed comfortable. I think attention to detail on cleanliness could be slightly better in both the bedroom and bathroom which is why I’ve given it a 4/5 rating, maybe modernising it a bit. Breakfast was great. The proprietor was a nice chap, considering he does it on his own he does a good job! He was very welcoming.

Stayed for 2 evenings & was greeted very warmly by Adrian. Our room was nice & cozy, the Bed was absolutely wonderful & comfortable, we had plenty of tea & coffee in the room & was offered more if needed. Adrian was full of knowledge about Torquay! So was very helpful. He also did the breakfast in the mornings! & WOW 🤩 What a scrumptious breakfast it was. I had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on toast & my partner had full English & we left nothing! But there were plenty of cereal & fresh juice tea & coffee on offer as well as pain au chocolate. It was endless & we wasn’t rushed. Thanks very much Adrian for an enjoyable couple days & your hospitality. From Peckham 😀

First impression, lovely room, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfasts were great, no complaints at all, and a good system for ordering. However, there was only 1 toilet roll (half) on the holder on arrival, and no spare anywhere. Only 1 bath towel on the bed. ( for 2 people-2nights). Only 2 tea bags. Bathroom door extremely stiff to shut.. but the worst thing was the slip mat in the shower cubicle ....disgusting! black mould. needs chucking! And no mat to step onto when you get out of the shower. Now I know I can ask for the missing items, but surely a certain amount is standard ?!

Three of us came down as family (2 adults and our 7 year old) in February. Adrian was very welcoming and accommodating. He was also very flexible with our arrival and departure times. The room was cosy with a double bed and a separate single bed in another room. Everything was clean and the breakfast was delicious. Plenty of choices including a full english breakfast and scrambled eggs with salmon. Adrian gave great suggestions on things to do and places to eat. He was a great host. The location was perfect - easy walking distance to the sea front and central for exploring Torquay. We definitely would come again!

Booked accommodation originally for last year. Couldn’t make the date so emailed and asked for new date and then for an additional days stay. Looked like great reviews so was looking forward to the stay which was for my 60th birthday. As I have been unwell and disabled we were really looking forward to this break. HOWEVER - we were totally let down. We waited in minus degrees temperature for over 20 mins for someone to either answer the telephone or open the door!! As my disability is aggravated by the cold we had no choice after not being allowed entry but to get in the car to warm up and wait for someone to arrive. Again after waiting with no one showing up we has no alternative but to book elsewhere. Totally let down. It was AGREED we’d not arrive until 7.30pm so to ignore us with no notification of being late was not acceptable. I suffered because of the cold for the next day which didn’t make a family birthday celebration very enjoyable. Maybe Adrian only like people with money ……….

I recently stayed here with my Dad for a weekend getaway. The ground floor Room (#5) we had was a great size, well equiped and extremely clean and tidy. The guest house offers brilliant value for money especially with the free parking and an included breakfast. The location was decent and was only a short walk into the heart of Torquau! The included Breakfast was fantastic and Adrian was extremely welcoming. Thank you!
