We only stayed the one night and had a fabulous experience. Very welcoming,friendly staff , who couldn't do enough for us. Room was very clean and tidy, had all the amenities that we would need. We were lucky to pick the night they had entertainment, which was great too, the lady singer was very good indeed and catered for all ages. We would have stayed another night, but due to the change in weather we didn't this time. However we would definitely book again in the future. So a big thumbs up from us and we would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for making it all so lovely too

I have rated only two because I booked in for 4 days and left in free this hotel only deserves a two star I think they keep it going on coach trips old very old beds very old blankets rough like I used to use when I was 30 years ago when we stopped using blankets I had to ask for duvet how to change rooms three times very old beds very old dark rooms don't go there and get disappointed manager was as good as I chocolate teapot

I am a tour guide who arrived here with 16 tourists. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by attentive and caring staff. The hotel staff is dressed in elegant uniforms and demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and friendliness. The politeness and willingness to meet any need — from opening an extra window to providing fresh towels without disturbing your privacy — make the stay truly comfortable and unforgettable. We booked a low key wedding reception for a party of 12, and were taken care of from the moment we first viewed the place until the moment we left as a fed and watered married couple! All staff are attentive, well presented and thoughtful, bringing us water before we needed to ask. The tables were dressed nicely (we didn't even ask for it but it was still a lovely touch), and we were given plenty of time to mill around at our leisure and were made to feel incredibly welcome by Piers and his excellent team. There is a gorgeous swimming pool (,and it was a very hot day and I was SO desperate to jump in but thought best not ruin the wedding dress) and a lovely outdoor seating area with parasols. I kind of want to spend a day just lounging by the pool if the weather stays this nice, it looked so inviting. We had sandwiches from the bar menu, which were tasty, reasonably priced and well presented - we pre-ordered. The coleslaw was nice as was my tuna wrap. Although this place offers wedding packages for food, it was nice that they were flexible to let us just order the stuff we wanted. We were also surprised with a beautiful and delicious cake which was just so so so lovely. It was an absolutely delightful afternoon and I am so very grateful to Piers for running such an excellent establishment, to the F&B team for ensuring service went so seamlessly, and to the reception and booking team who organised all of this. I might be back soon to float around in your lovely pool if non residents are permitted. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a holiday ,or a wedding reception, or a lunch or a delicious cocktail - basically if you want to have a good experience come here and let the amazing staff take care of you in beautiful surroundings with elegant decor. It's just gorgeous. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Spent 4 nights at this hotel, from the moment we arrived till we left we were made extremely welcome.. the staff are amazing, and the food is wonderful, admittedly the hotel is old and could use some updating in places, but the service makes you overlook this... can't praise the food and service enough.. would recommend.

The Riviera Royals celebrated their 17th birthday at the Livermead House Hotel on 6th June. Such wonderful service and the food was perfect as well as the full silver service, such a treat. The Hotel Staff couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome.

Livermead House Hotel. The Jewel in Torquay’s Crown. We enjoyed another visit to the hotel in April and are returning again middle of June also we’re contemplating another visit this September...four times in a year. This speaks volumes for what we enjoy at this delightful hotel. With the largest car park of any hotel in Torquay, the formality of checking in only takes a few minutes. Pressing the button for the vintage lift, if it’s on its way down with passengers, we dream that Poiro and Miss Lemon may step out. The hotel takes you back in time to another world. No glaring TVs, no guests with a small drink hogging a table in the well-stocked bar with a laptop, no annoying telephones being answered in the Dining Room. Most guests are here for relaxing and the ambiance and character of the dining room and quality of the varied menus with a grand piano playing gently are greatly appreciated. One Dinner starter: Anchovy Bruschetta with sliced tomatoes diced red onion and salad leaves, followed by a refreshing Passion Fruit Sorbet. Another meal main course after a refreshing Lemon Sorbet: Confit of Duck Leg with a Brandy and Black Cherry Sauce

I’ve just got back from a 5 night stay and I can honestly say it was the best food and service I’ve had at a hotel. There was a great choice on the menu and all staff couldn’t do enough for you. The pianist played during dinner which gave a really pleasant atmosphere. The hotel is in an ideal location not too far to walk to the centre of Torquay or there are bus stops right outside if you’ve no transport to the town centre, Paignton, Brixham and Newton Abbot and the railway station is a stones throw away too. The bar area is spacious with sea views and drinks were reasonable. The decor is going back in time but that’s the charm of the hotel. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it though possibly “youngsters” wouldn’t appreciate its charm as much as more mature guests.
