We have previously stayed at the Ibis Tilburg and our stays have been good. This particular incident is very disappointing. My husband & I are traveling from Norway to Portugal and have planned our route & hotels. We chose the Ibis brand due to it being cost effective, clean, well staffed & pet friendly. We are traveling 9 days all Ibis hotels. Upon going over our Itineraries, I noticed that one of the dates were wrong. I’m sure it was something as simple as a fat finger but I immediately made contact with the hotel. Here is where the story gets interesting. I spoke with a young girl via email. She informed me that because I bought it online and it was paid that there was nothing that we can do. I did not buy a “flex” room?. In my defense, I did go back and look and it was quite confusing as to flex or non flex. I’ve never bought a flex. I’ve never had a problem in any hotel. I travel a lot. Now mind you all I’m asking for is to change the date to June 25 from June 26. I don’t want a refund & I’m willing to pay extra and we went back-and-forth several times each time I asked who is the property manager no response. Finally when I informed them that I am going to talk to corporate and write a review, I start getting emails from the front of the house property manager. He informed me that it’s not “fair” If he was to help us, but if I wanted to sell my room to someone and change the name that they would do that well that’s not what I’m looking for. The email exchange was absurd and repetitive. I have since found out that the Ibis is a franchise. So each Ibis has different rules and regulations. Well I have since booked with another Ibis hotel and I am very pleased. No, I’m not looking for anything for free but I think if you are in the hospitality business that you should provide hospitality. The tone of the emails and just the uncooperative attitude has soured me on this brand. I feel as they could have made this situation which was a mistake and there would be no financial consequence to the hotel that they could’ve actually helped us. This particular franchise in Tilburg is unwilling to break the rules, (he also told me it didn’t matter if there was illness or a fat finger, rules are rules) and everything to them was black & white. I live in the gray & sometime you have to help your guests, again there would be no financial loss to them. They did offer that I could buy another room, and of course they would keep my money from the wrong date, I chose to find a new hotel, and I highly would never recommend this facility for any travel to anyone. DO better Tilburg
City Hotel Tilburg

We booked a triple room with a double bed and 1 single bed (option given). They called 24h up front and confirmed this on the phone. On arrival we had to pay the full amount up front for unknown reason. The room we got was just a double room and had only 1 double bed so our son had to sleep in between us. The double bed however was just made of 2 single beds moved together. The lightswitches and phone were installed between the two single beds so when moved together they are horribly placed in the middle of the double bed. Our son got the phone on his head twice during the night. When noted to the staff they replied: “we thought the child would be smaller so a double bed was enough”. They did not even offer to put up a bed. There were two of everything, not three. Note that every night there was loud music and people shouting until 4 am. The breakfast buffet was very limited and the provided pastry and bacon was black/burned. During our stay we noted a lot of mold in the bathroom which was never cleaned. At the end of our stay they offered to refund partially from the triple to a double but “they could not do that right now”. We have never heard from them since. They charged for three and delivered for two. Horrible experience.

Ho prenotato direttamente tramite il sito, dovendo modificare le date e non essendo riuscita a farlo perchè mi dava continuamente errore, ho scritto una mail in inglese e mi hanno risposto in olandese, che con Google ho tradotto, ma ho trovato che una risposta in inglese sarebbe stata più appropriata. Il check-in all'arrivo è stato non molto piacevole, mi hanno chiesto di pagare subito tutto il soggiorno (circa 1000 euro) ancora prima di salutarmi. Ho avuto qualche problema con le carte di credito (in Olanda i circuiti Visa e Mastercard non sempre vengono accettati...) e la receptionist mi ha trattata in modo molto sgarbato. Arrivate in camera al primo piano, la vista sul parcheggio e sulla tettoia piena di mozziconi di sigaretta e rifiuti è stata francamente poco piacevole. La pulizia della stanza era decisamente sommaria e durante tutta la settimana si sono limitati a svuotare i cestini e a cambiare qualche asciugamano. La colazione abbastanza basica per il prezzo richiesto. Positiva la vicinanza al centro e la tranquillità della zona. Materassi abbastanza comodi, wi-fi lento.
Van der Valk Hotel Tilburg

We stayed for three nights to attend Decibel Outdoor which was around 1.5 miles from the hotel. We've stayed in a Van Der Valk hotel before (Eindhoven) and were very impressed so decided to stay in the same chain again. It did not disappoint. We stayed in a comfort room. It was very big & felt quite luxurious. The bathroom had double doors that opened out into the bedroom which was a lovely touch. We also had a balcony. We ate in the restaurant the first night. The food was delicious & so were the cocktails. Breakfast was perfect. You couldn't ask for anything more with so much choice. The hotel also has a small self serve shop where you can buy drinks, snacks & toiletries. It's a little bit pricey but with no other shops in the local vicinity it's very handy. We used the pool on the first day. It's small but it wasn't busy and great for a cool down in the hot weather. My only reason for the 4 stars is the public transport link. The nearest bus stop is quite a walk from the hotel. A taxi from the train station on the first day cost €30 and considering this was a 3km journey I found that very expensive although this is not the hotels fault Would 100% stay here again. Fabulous place

Ho prenotato il pacchetto Epheling per 3 adulti ed è stata la scelta perfetta. L'hotel sta camminando lontano dalle stazioni e facile da trovare. Le camere sono comode e pulite - mia figlia era felice di trovare la nostra camera da bagno aveva una bagno (non tutte le camere). La colazione è stata inclusa e consisteva in una vasta selezione di articoli, ed è stata molto buona. Ma vi sono diversi ristoranti, che si occupano di una varietà di gusti e di bilancio. Dopo aver mangiato altrove la seconda sera, siamo tornati all'hotel e abbiamo bevuto tranquillamente nel bar. Non so quanto sia occupato l'hotel in altri momenti, ma abbiamo avuto un soggiorno tranquillo, rilassante e molto contento con tutta l'esperienza. Ci sono stati dei rumori dalla strada tardi di notte, ma non durò molto. Tutti i membri del personale erano amici e di aiuto.
