Amaana Plantations Resort

Amaana Plantation resort will be my all-time favorite place to go and relax. The resort is surrounded by a thick plantation of jackfruit, pepper, and cardamon. All the rooms have a beautiful window view and you can sit there hear birds chirping sounds which are so relaxing to hear if you are coming from the metro cities. Rooms are super spacious with AC, TV, and a mini-fridge. You also have a hot tub to relax listening to music. Ram and Muthu were super friendly right from the check-in time. They made sure we were comfortable throughout the stay. The restaurant inside the resort has a wide variety of menus and it's yummy as well.

I can’t believe this hotel. My wife and I checked into the hotel for new Years Eve. Okay so first of all we wanted to have a pre dinner drink on our balcony. I ordered some ice from the restaurant they brought a bucket with maybe 15 cubes of ice in it. When I asked for a full bucket of ice he just walked away. After that first drink I ordered another bucket of ice. It took 1/2 an hour for the next bucket of ice to arrive, again 15 cubes in a big bucket??? So we went to dinner only to be told they don’t have a liquor license and we can only drink alcohol in our room. So, back to the room only to be told they have run out of ice!! Anyway the main issue I have with this resort is they have installed a BEAUTIFUL spa in the bathroom and I fill it, there is only like warm to cold water. I boil the jug 5 times to get the water to tepid, get in ready for my spa and the jets don’t work! OMG! My wife said yes, they told us when we checked in it is not a jacuzzi it’s only a bath and the water to it is only warm!! What a waste, what a joke! Obviously not a hotel for westerners on New Years Eve!

Had a worst experience with them. Good that we stayed only for one night. I don't know where to start but from bed, bathroom and everything is not good. They have leakage and bathroom and bad smell and shower door is not closed. And big noise coming from AC and all throughout the night it is on but the room didn't get cool. And there are blood stains on bed sheets and many more . Had a long day from Munnar and got their room in this condition.

Awesome property with Great View and rooms Great weather to compliment the stay. There are limited rooms and villas and the staff is super friendly. The night view is mesmerizing and it gets super awesome when it rains here. Feels like a foreign place

We booked a one-night stay through Agoda at this resort, primarily for the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely drive in our new car. We had initially attempted a weekend getaway during the Puja holidays but couldn't find a suitable place. Later, we stumbled upon this resort while browsing for options, offering great discounts and a tranquil stay in a quiet plantation by the highway. We immediately made the booking and informed our close friend of our plans. Surprisingly, he decided to join us, even though he had earlier expressed some concerns. With this context in mind, let me provide you with a detailed account of our journey and stay. We set off from Aluva around 6:00 AM, winding our way through seemingly quiet villages with magnificent bungalows each surrounded by vast rubber plantations. Google Maps guided us through this picturesque route until we reached KK Road at Parathodu. From there, it took us about an hour and a half to reach the resort, well ahead of the check-in time. We had requested early check-in, adjacent rooms, and one with a good view, though we weren't certain if these requests would be accommodated. Our first glimpse of the property left us in awe. It was a lush green paradise with towering trees and dense cardamom plants. The cottages, just nine in number, were strategically placed on the slopes of the property, each offering a clear view of the picturesque landscape and pond below. To our delight, all our requests had been granted. The rooms were absolutely stunning, incredibly spacious and well-ventilated. The generous balconies overlooked a gently sloping lawn, and the bathrooms were unlike any we had seen in a resort – spacious, equipped with ultra-modern fittings, and always had warm water at the perfect temperature. The towels, toiletries, bed linen – everything was fresh and spotless. The area designated for the fridge, kettle, and supplies was cleverly located just behind the bed, rather than in the usual prominent foyer of the room. The lounge furniture was tastefully designed and placed. The extensive use of glass made it hard to distinguish between the walls and windows, all beautifully complemented by well-maintained and tailored drapes. Although we had plans to explore the town and visit viewpoints, we decided to abandon these ideas and stay within the resort's premises because there was so much to see and experience on-site. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at their semi-open-air restaurant, where the food was exceptional, piping hot, and made to order. It was evident that meticulous attention had been given to every detail, from the rooms and furniture to the lighting and common areas. We also had our dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, both of which were equally delectable and high-class. The complimentary breakfast, in particular, offered a diverse spread catering to native tastes. We found this place via TripAdvisor and stayed here during our family vacation in Oct 23. From the moment we entered the property we were captivated by the serenity and the charm of the place. Set in the middle of a cardamom and pepper plantation, this is a hidden gem where we woke up to birdsongs every morning, surrounded by mist covered hills and trees. We saw drongos, kingfishers tree pies, whistling threshes and many more birds right from our balcony. The hotel is a plantation stay more than a typical resort so there aren't many activities to do inside, but it's around 10km from Thekkady and Periyar National park where we can do tons of cultural and outdoor activities. They have a restaurant on premise which offers breakfast and a la carte meals which you can order in advance given the preparation time needed. Prices are quite reasonable and the taste was also great. Overall given the modern decor, clean and huge rooms, bathrooms which themselves were as big as some hotel rooms and the fantastic surroundings, we wished that we hadn't pre booked any activities outside and instead just chilled inside the property - we will definitely come back and do that someday :)
