We had booked somewhere else that looked ok, but when we arrived, we were very disappointed. It was really a bit scruffy and dismal. We decided not to stay there and looked for somewhere else. Luckily, we struck gold with Villa Arinalu! It is the most friendly and welcoming place with charming hosts. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and our meals were truly delicious. It is situated high up on a hill overlooking Kandy and surrounding area. Beautiful view from our blacony. The road up is steep but well worth it when you get there.

Very beautiful view from the balcony, clean and spacious room. Really beautiful villa, nicely decorated. The restaurant has a very cosy outside space with balcony which also overviews the beautiful view. We ate dinner and had breakfast and the food was very good. Only issue is to reach the villa, the road is very steep and narrow. Wouldn't recommend to reach there with a large vehicle.

This charming guesthouse, converted from a family home, is lovingly run by Aruna and his wife, who have been hosting guests since 2015. The property offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with breathtaking views that make it truly special. The rooms are simple yet spotless, featuring comfortable beds for a restful stay. Breakfast is freshly prepared and delicious, adding to the overall homely experience. This is an ideal choice for anyone seeking value-for-money accommodation with stunning views. However, it's important to set realistic expectations—this is not a luxury 5-star hotel, and it shouldn't be judged as such. Comparing it to high-end establishments does a disservice to the incredible effort Aruna and his wife put into ensuring every guest feels at home. Kudos to Aruna and his wife for their exceptional hospitality! Highly recommended for a memorable stay in Kandy.

Wow, what a place. I had such a restful and peaceful stay here! After travelling around Sri Lanka for 3 weeks, I booked 3 nights here to rest and I am so glad I did. First of all, the hosts are just wonderful. They are everything you would expect from 5* hospitality and more. They made me feel as though I was staying with long lost family whilst still being so respectful of my privacy - they did not over impose at all. It really felt like having the best of both the hotel and guesthouse worlds. They made me feel so welcome from the moment I stepped out of the taxi! The room was the cleanest room I’ve stayed in whilst travelling here - I felt so comfortable. The views were incredible and the outside shower was so cool - showering with a view!! Pressure and temperature were both great. The hosts asked me when I wanted to have breakfast each morning the day before and it was always delicious, with different fruit every day! If I could’ve stayed longer, I would have. This was the best booking I’ve made for a while and I was very sad to leave. Thank you so much and I hope to come back one day!!

Arunalu Villa was an unforgettable experience in Kandy. Perched atop a hill, the villa offered panoramic views of lush landscapes and the Knuckles Mountain Range. The sunrise vista was breathtaking. They welcomed us warmly and kind enough to offer a room upgrade. The rooms, charmingly decorated and spacious, provided a cozy retreat after a day of exploration.

Excellent stay at villa arunalu for our honeymoon stay. Rooms are spacious and clean. One of the best views I have ever seen! The thing that makes this place amazing is the husband and wife team that run the place. They are wonderful cooks to start with and breakfast is great. I would recommend you stay for dinner one evening and sri Lankan curries are so tasty. The hosts also help you with arranging trips/taxis/resturaunts and negotiate prices down when they feel you are paying too much. They really look out for you. When we are in kandy we will be back!

Where to start, this place really is magical. The views are completely stunning and such a treat to wake up to each morning. There was nothing that Aruna and Suranji won't do to help. They helped us with trips, washing, taxis and even helped us plan the rest of our trip around Sri Lanka. They are the loveliest couple and made us feel right at home in their beautiful home stay. Breakfast was delicious and we had different Sri Lankan dishes to try each day. We also ate there one evening and had an incredible Sri Lankan meal for only £5 each. The rooms are clean and comfortable with incredible views and a lovely balcony to sit on and enjoy coffee in the morning. We would love to return here in the future.

Excellent experience in this small family-run B&B! The owners are so lovely and careful about their little gem and making their guests the most confortable possible, thank you for this great time in Kandy! The food was delicious from the breakfast (very complete and we appreciated the wood apple jam!) to the dinners for which Surenji always adapted to our preferences (not spicy etc.), she's really an excellent cooker!! Our room was clean, well equipped and confortable bed with a fantastic view! The position is a bit outside Kandy, which means very quiet and although some people commented about the distance, actually it's only a small tuktuk ride to the city centre and we really appreciated the lack of noise after busy days vising Kandy! Thank you Surenji and Aruna for our great discussions, all your attentions and making our stay in Kandy so enjoyable, we would repeat if we were back in SL!

Our tour guide booked us this hotel and we were so happy with his recommendation. A lovely couple owned this property and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. It was a small hotel with only a few rooms which made it cosy. We stayed in a family room as there was a group of 4 of us and we had two bathrooms with a shower and a bath. The views from this hotel were incredible. I would 100% recommend.
