Hotel in zona Chou's Honor Arch, Taipei

The overall experience at Beitou Hotel Royal was pleasant at 3.5 stars out of 5.0, but it didn't meet 4.0 stars for me. Check-in is on the 6F, and then you get a room between 7F-10F. There looks to be 11 rooms per floor (number 4 is skipped). The massage and spa are on 11F while the public hot spring is in 12F, and is accessible either by elevator or by stairs. There are solo male and female hot spring areas, which are quite small and cramped (3 mini pools, 2 saunas), and then there's a larger male and female area, which is a lot bigger and more comfortable with two large pools but are at lower temperatures. There are also lounge 4 chairs to chill on and 4 long wooden benches to sit on. Unfortunately, you need to bring your own swimming gear for the latter part as they dont sell these there. Thankfully, the rooms are very spacious (rectangular shaped instead of square shaped) with the toilet and shower plus hot spring separated, which is the right way to do this. However, the toilet is quite small. The lighting could be better as could the a/c, but the in-room hot spring is just big enough for two adults. The room uses a lot of white so it doesn't feel too dark. Breakfast is on 1F, and it's to the right when you enter the building. Service is decent, and you can't beat the location as it's right near the MRT station so the in-hotel food doesn't have to be good. This spot is just a step down from Beitou Asia Pacific Hotel, which we only very recently went to.

飯店位置對開車與搭設大眾運輸都方便抵達，周遭店家選擇多元，飯店對面還有便利商店，店址為位於巷弄內所以也很幽靜，服務人員會專人帶至停車位協助停車，入住細項規定也很仔細解說，房間與浴室(泡澡池)都很寬敞，房間也有提供水果與飲料，早餐供應選擇中規中矩(中西都有)

It's in a great location, within walking distance of public transportation and pretty much all Xinbeitou places of interest. The staff were very kind and friendly. Our room was very large and the bed was big and comfortable too. The free snacks, tea and coffee were a nice touch. I read other reviews complaining that the rooms are old and in need of renovation. The curtains were old and had holes in them, but other than that our room was in good condition. We made good use of the hot spring bath, which was our main reason for coming up to Beitou. I was surprised that bathrobes were not provided, which would have been appreciated. The bathroom stayed damp after using the steamy hot bath on the first day, but the cleaning staff wiped it down on the second day. If it hadn't been quite so cold outside we could have opened the bathroom window to let it dry out more quickly. Breakfast was typical buffet style, maybe not enough variety for typical Westerners, but we were satisfied with the selection. All in all, it's a nice hotel for visiting Xinbeitou area and having your own large hot spring bath.

Questa è la mia terza visita. L'hotel è a meno di 5 minuti dall'uscita della stazione di Xinbeitou. La camera è spaziosa e confortevole e dispone di bagni termali, bagni turchi e saune ampia zona balneare. Abbiamo avuto un grande soggiorno all'hotel. Situazione piuttosto conveniente se ti piace camminare - circa 15 minuti dalla stazione Xinbeitou MRT. ma hanno anche un autobus per gli ospiti dalla stazione. Il servizio era impeccabile, La ricezione personalizzata è arrivata al nostro partenza. hotel food for breakfast is typical japanese style and the option is sufficient for small eater like me. Services from the butler is perfect and personalised. Facilities like Onsen bath and SPA and restaurants are also excellent (but come with a premium price though)
