The Lemonfield Hotel

Very clean all good 10 out 10

My sister and I stayed at The Lemonfield Hotel 7-10 May, sharing a twin room. It is always our first choice for accommodation when we visit the area. The owners, Jav and Zed, welcomed us for this return visit and made sure we had all we needed during our stay. They are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms and beds are comfortable and maintained to a high standard. The English breakfasts are excellent value - a good appetite is recommended as the portions are very generous. It is perfectly located opposite the fabulous beach, has shops, restaurants, cafes and bars in walking distance. There are good bus and metro services nearby if you want a break from driving. If you are thinking about booking just go ahead, you will enjoy your stay. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

This is a fabulous family run B&B. My second visit here did not disappoint. Jav & Zed could not be more welcoming, warm friendly & helpful. Breakfast is second to none for a small extra cost, great selection of ingredients, beautifully cooked to order. Close to sea front & local restaurants and bars. Well appointed rooms cosy a home from home, spotlessly clean and maintained.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Lemonfield. I was staying on my own due to work, and felt safe and comfortable at all times. The room was very clean and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable with good quality cotton linen. Tea and coffee tray was replenished daily. And the breakfast was good value and very tasty. I'd definitely recommend a stay here and have already booked in for my next trip up to Sunderland.

Fabulous hotel. All staff very friendly &welcoming. We had Florence Suite, superb, beautiful sea views, nipping clean, lovely soft fluffy dressing gowns. Full English breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend. Terry & Jackie Ross.

Very pleasant, quiet and excellent sea view. Sara and Zahir accommodated all our needs even allowing us to extend our stay. Was within walking distance of promenade and plenty of restaurants. A lot to recommend about the hotel.

Just returned from a few days at the Lemonfield Hotel: our first time there. We were impressed by the personal touch of the owners: nothing was too much trouble. On arrival we we were given an upgrade and a splendid, spacious room with views over the seafront and green. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the other staff we met were both friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were excellent, with plenty of choice and large portions if required. All in all, one of the best places I've stayed for quite a while!

Great little guest house and great location. The breakfast looked great but I wasn't able to partake unfortunately. If I had to make one criticism the room was a bit small especially the on-suite but that's a minor detail! Overall very good.

We stayed (out of season) for 1 night to go to an event at the Souter Light House next day. Despite arriving quite early we were made welcome and given immediate access to one room (the other was being cleaned). The dining and bedrooms stood out as bright, fresh and modern with comfortable beds. In early January the only other guest left early next morning. This is a family business run by the lady owner. Unfortunately her daughter (who helps when free) forgot to pass on our breakfast order and next morning the owner was off-site. She made a special effort to return quickly and willingly cooked for us. When in the area we will aim to stay again.
