Stadthotel am Wasen

If there’s a better hotel in Stuttgart then I’d like to see it. It is so close to the Stuttgart Arena being a 10 minute walk over the river Nektar and only 10 minutes by tram to the city centre. Around the hotel there is also a range of restaurants and cafes with notable mention to the Cannsatter Kurve, (a reference to the area occupied by the Stuttgart FC ultras) run by a fantastic Bosnian and the beer garden at the neighbouring Pig Museum (not joking) which had great draught beer and menu. But the jewel is this fantastic family hotel run with professionalism and friendliness where nothing is too much bother. The rooms are large with a fab bathroom with shower and fridge with a reasonably priced mini bar if you want to take advantage of it. Our room was to the rear and was quiet and a really nice balcony with air conditioning which was easy to work and very efficient. The hotel also had a lift. The breakfasts were great with hot and cold options and we had one of our party who was gluten intolerant and the owner Vanessa ensured there was gluten free rolls, cereal and milk made available every morning. Her parents are also heavily involved in running the hotel and equally were so kind and helpful throughout our stay including selling us 3 day public transport tickets which enabled us to move about without fear of being fined or struggling to work out how to get transport tickets. The Red Tourist bus which goes around the city also stops just around the corner. This is a first class hotel and can’t praise it enough. Highly recommended.
