The fish and chips looked ok. I had the beef bourginon (sp?) The sauce/gravy was tasteless and gelatinous, and the meat wasn’t cooked properly. It was still full of uncooked connective tissue. The pudding was nice - I had the white chocolate mousse. Overall, far too expensive for the standard of the food served.

Lovely big pub/ restaurant, this is the first time we’ve been, we picked it, as it’s midway for family to meet up. Tasty food, extensive menu, with plenty of choice, we’ve booked to go back again on our next family catch up. The staff were lovely and very accommodating with our different requirements, great veggie & vegan options.

Excellent service in the restaurant, sadly we were not able to book a room. Nice menu with gluten free offerings. Would recommend.. the seating was great and they were really helpful with the 50th birthday celebration. Think it’s essential to book for a Saturday night.

Went for a 70th birthday celebration meal and was very disappointed. Having been before, this visit was awful. Mixed up orders with another table, food brought was cold and not all meals at the same time for our group. Table service wasn’t particularly helpful either. Such a shame as have always recommended here to others but will not be doing that anymore and will look for alternatives for any future meals out.

Excellent olde worlde charm. Very clean and an excellent alternative to the corporate offerings from the big chains. Accommodation was clean and sheets were crisp linen. Food in the restaurant was of high quality and the staff were friendly and helpful.

A really nice spacious room and comfortable bed. Got a good price for single occupancy whilst travelling on business and would definitely stay here again! Great breakfast and dinner too! Ample parking and good access for the motorway in general.

We went for a birthday breakfast. It was made special by a very welcoming breakfast waitress. She was very attentive throughout the meal, bringing over filtered coffee, and making sure that we had all we needed. Hubby and son had full monty breakfast and particularly liked the taste of the sausages. I had eggs royale which again was delicious. I highly recommend a visit here.

Took my husband here for a treat, the location is beautiful but let down by the awful food and service. I ordered the Oyster mushroom burger, it was so tough I could not cut it, the mushroom looked like it had been deep fat fried and it was inedible. I left the whole burger, which was expensive and my husband's Gammon he said was very very salty. When the waitress took our plates and asked if everything was okay, I told her it was rock hard and I couldn't cut it let alone eat it, she did not apologise she just said, I'll tell chef. When she bought the bill (not cheap either) they had knocked £2.49 off for "unhappy customer"!!!! Absolutely disgusting, will never go again or recommend

The hotel was very accommodating as we were back very late from a family wedding at the Marina. The room was comfortable and the price was very reasonable considering the amazing breakfast we had. I had the special eggs Benedict which was sublime, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. My partner had the full English breakfast and this was cooked and presented to the same superiour standard. All in all, for value for money and the standard of the food we can happily give 5 *****. Would we stay here again? Yes. Would we come here just for the food? YES! Well done to the hardworking team, to the chef and to everyone else who gives up their time for this beautiful pub/hotel.
