This home is perfect for boating enthusiasts, and there is something for everyone at The Eagle’s Nest Lake House. Just 12 minutes outside of Park Rapids, 25 minutes to Itasca State Park and the Headwaters of the Mississippi River, and only 50 minutes to Paul Bunyan in Bemidji, along with Buena Vista Ski Resort. Just around the corner from the house you will find The Character Challenge Course and Summerhill Adventure’s. For those who want to spend time outdoors, you couldn’t find a better home base to adventure from. We are perched just above Potato Lake West Access, with plenty of parking available on our property for your boats and toys. Although we do not have our own dock on the lake, you will find that putting your boat into the lake is a seamless process, with lake access literally in the front yard. If you don’t have your own boat, we have rental locations that can bring the boat to you! There are snowmobile and ATV trails galore surrounding our property. The fishing is amazing on Potato Lake, and we’re closely connected to several other lakes including Fishhook and Eagle Lake. There are so many outdoor adventures waiting for you here! In the summer months, enjoy our Fire Pit and multiple outdoor sitting areas, along with a large propane or charcoal grill. There is a corn hole game ready and waiting for your enjoyment! For those who prefer to stay inside and relax, we also have all you need. Everything in the home is brand new! This peaceful home was designed to be equally enjoyable for every type of vacationer! The house has 4 comfortable bedrooms, all equipped with smart TVs. Each bedroom has high quality linens and comfortable mattresses. Each of the 3 full bathrooms will provide you with plenty of towels, rain-head showers, and a set of travel size toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash and bar soap for your convenience. Your main kitchen is fully stocked with all of the dishes, pans, and utensils you’ll need to cook for your family, as well as a stocked spice cabinet for your convenience. There is a large capacity washer and dryer available for your use, and we provide detergent and fabric softener for 2 loads, should you need to use them during your stay. Your game room is very spacious, with plenty of room for your whole group. It’s complete with an Air Hockey table, a Billiards table, 2 Arcade Games, a Ping Pong table, a seating area with a 70 inch UHD smart TV with Bose Surround Sound, an XBox with games, and a fully stocked board game, card game and puzzle cabinet for your enjoyment. Our home is the perfect getaway for multiple groups small and large! We most enjoy the beautiful sunsets we get to view from sitting around the fireplace or from the deck or screened in patio. This home is perfect for those wanting to spend lots of time outside and on the water with an easy level walk from the home to the dock. Our canoe, paddle boards, and paddle boat are yours to cruise around on during your stay. A fire pit and lounging chairs are also handy for those wanting to just relax and take in the outdoors. 5th Crow Wing is a very private lake as it does not have a public access. If you would like to launch your own boat you are welcome to do so; the access to 6th Crow Wing Lake is right across the road from us and you can launch there and take a short cruise through the adjoining channel to 5th Crow Wing and dock at our home. 5th Crow Wing is great for fishing in the winter and summer months with lots of Walleye, Northern and Panfish. The kitchen comes stocked with basic cookingware , place settings, and utensils for 14 people. We have wi-fi available for use. WiFi is available and works great if you do need to connect a time or two during your vacation. We also have many games and puzzles available inside that are for you to enjoy during your stay. With expansive windows in every room, you can enjoy the outdoors from the light filled comfort of indoors. Or sit on the large deck and take in the hum of motor boats, loon calls, and humming birds zooming by. You will feel refreshed as soon as you walk in the door of this well loved cabin. The property has much to offer. With woods separating the cabin from neighbors, you will feel secluded and away from it all. A winding pebble path leads you down to the lake, where you'll find a large dock for swimming, fishing or just sitting with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. There is a public boat launch on the opposite side of the lake and guests are welcome to tie up to the dock. Back up on top of the hill, take advantage of the large fire pit and yard activities, like bag toss (games provided).Bring your bikes and explore the Heartland trail. Our favorite tour is from Akley to Walker, it's a beautiful stretch of the trail and Walker has a downtown with lots of shops and parks that are fun to explore. Another great day trip is to start in Nevis, bike to Dorset for a treat at the Dorset House, famous for their ice cream sundays, then end back at the Iron Horse in Nevis for delicious BBQ dinner. No matter what your pleasure, we think you'll have a great time getting to know the cabin and the area. We would love to share this special place with you. We winterize our cabin, so it is available for booking May-October and closed November-April. The dock access is dependent on weather. The gorgeous lakefront windows let you experience the outdoors while enjoying the fireplace, watching movies, playing games, cooking, or listening to albums on the Victrola record player. The bedrooms have been designed in soothing sage green, cream, and natural wood tones for a peaceful night's sleep after long days playing on the lake. Enjoy Smore's by the outdoor fire pit, relax with a glass of wine or coffee in the lounge area on the lakefront deck, play a game of horse shoes, make dinner on the grill and eat at the outdoor dining table. This is a natural shoreline (not a beach) and there are lake weeds so if you don't like swimming in them (like me), we have floaties for getting out past the weeds. A two person kayak is available for exploring the lake as well. There is a dock to tie up your boat (water is shallow at dock- just a few feet).Itasca State Park and the headwaters of the Mississippi is only 15 minutes away and quaint downtown Park Rapids is just a short 10 minute drive. The Heartland bike trail starts in Park Rapids and goes to Walker where if you're really ambitious you can connect to the Paul Bunyan Trail system. There are several golf courses within 15 minutes drive and for snow mobile and ATV enthusiasts, you can ride to trails right from the cabin.
