Had to evacuate for hurricane Milton, got to the hotel after a 4+ hour drive only to be told that we had to evacuate there too. Really? Both the hotel and Hilton, I made my reservation directly, couldn’t have notified me and the other VERY ANXIOUS & ANNOYED customers who also arrived from their evacuation zones. We had no where to go for the night so we were forced to stay and leave their premises at 8am as mandated. Still got charged $24 for parking, IN THEIR PARKING LOT, that’s not valet or anything. What was the point of complaining, they weren’t gonna do anything about everyone’s complaints. We were then forced to drive the next day, in hazardous conditions-pouring pre-hurricane rain, to find another hotel. I don’t feel I should have paid full price for this stay, but apparently the hotel convinced AMEX that my dispute had no merit.
