It was an amazing time with welcome heritage gurkha family they treated us like their family and no doubts tanveer and maqbool chacha gave us their all to make us comfortable 100% a must try house boat everything was so on point that i can't complain about anything anyways my stay was only for 2 days but in those 2 days i felt that am in my home

A tranquil getaway from the hubbub of city life. The houseboats are well maintained and beautifully and richly decorated. The caretaking staff including Mr. Ashraf and colleagues are very friendly and excellent. The food is delicious. The visit to the carpet warehouse is enlightening. An evening shikara ride is a must.

A few milesfrom the west shore, a Shikara and its humble operator will take you across to your houseboat where a nice hot “Kava”will be ready for you! Your room with Cedar wood lining will be made warm by the staff!Alcohol is prohibited in the boat as is elsewhere in Srinagar but as usual we did sneak in some Bourbon! Dinner was spectacular and specially prepared for us! Slept well into the night though the bedsheet was smelly and ought to be replaced everyday ! Breakfast had no options but just a crude Omelette!

Best house boat you can be on. Right from the check in to check out, everything was excellent. This visit changed our perception about house boats. Extremely clean, hygienic, centrally heated, amazing food, great hospitality. You cannot expect services to be like in a stand alone hotel like 24/7 room service but there is a 24/7 caretaker on the houseboat. Tanveer and his team Mujjafar and Mujakeer were extremely hospitable and ensured that we had a good stay. They serve you food on dining table that will give you a feeling of homely stay. Hot wheat chapati, rice and food felt like cooked at home. Views are too good (ensure you wake up early for the sun rise ). We were lucky as we got the house boat to ourselves. Will stay here again. Clean linen, had a bath tub in it. Had a an amazing stay.

ITC welcome heritage Gurkha Houseboats add to your experience of visiting Srinagar..The boats are warm, comfortable even in mid december. The Staff is the best thing about the boats, they are so homely and helpful. The food is totally honelike and gives a feel as if you are sitting with your family for a meal..The view from the houseboat of the lake in winters is absolutely mesmerising. It was like a perfect stay..I would recommend everyone to stay at the Gurkhas once in Srinagar..they will cherish it. THANKS

The houseboats are accessible through 2 minute Sikara ride. As soon as we entered the houseboat (No. 2), Tanveer and his team welcomed us with big smile and explained us the rules and gave us the tour of the houseboat. The team is truly a gem. Top notch hospitality and homely feeling. Our dinner and breakfast (included in package) was made fresh after our order. In our entire Kashmir trip we didn’t had this amazing food as we had in houseboat. Houseboat is entirely made of wood and has 4 rooms (with attached washroom). 3 rooms in same floor and 1 room in above floor. A common living hall & dinning room are spacious. You can say it’s floating hotel with all amenities. Would surely recommend everyone to visit and experience hospitality by Tanveer & team.

This is the 2nd time in 2 years, that we were very lucky to stay in Itc heritage houseboat no 2. Mr Ashraf took excellent care of us,always smiling and ever willing to help us in every way. The food was excellent. An extremely comfortable, luxurious stay. Our shikara boats ***, Ali Mohd was a very friendly and cheerful person. Thank you, Mr Tanvir, Mr Ashraf and Noor for making us feel so special. We look forward to coming back for the third time.

The hospitality at this houseboat is exceptional. The staff are very friendly and attentive to ensuring that guests are comfortable and enjoying themselves. The food is delicious and what’s more there is a personal touch as it’s all prepared at the houseboat . Piping hot Phulkas served with Kashmiri aloo dum! The rooms are luxurious and the house boat decor is in typical Kashmiri fashion with intricate carvings and elegant silk carpets that embeds the soul of Kashmir . A stay in a houseboat on Dal Lake is the complete Kashmir experience

What an amazing experience we had during our 2 day stay on boat #2. From the moment we arrived across the lake, taking a beautiful shikara (small boat) with a delightful guide, we were in our awe. The peaceful ride around the lake to our houseboat was fantastic! So peaceful, so quiet, so beautiful! Greeted by handsome Kashmiri gentleman whose only role was to make our visit be beyond perfect…and it was accomplished. The boat was exquisite but the best part they upgraded us to a suite with a private balcony! All of the hand-carved decor was so elegant. The manager was very nice but Riyaz and Asheif met our every need with smiles and enthusiasm. We really enjoyed many conversations with them too. We spent most of our time on our balcony, watching the world go by. This was an experience we will never forget and must do for everyone who visits Kashmir! Tank you!!
