We spent 4 nights in a superior room, which had the benefit of a small terrace, albeit hemmed in by air-conditioner units and chimneys from the nearby restaurants. Potential guests should note that access to the accommodation is via a spiral staircase with 56 steps (we counted!) with only a rope as support and anybody with a disability or mobility issues may well struggle, particularly if carrying bags. The location couldn't be more central and historical, in that the accommodation is located inside the "Golden Gate; the most spectacular of the entrances to the Old City and Diocletian's Palace. Access to all of the main Old City sites takes only minutes, and other sites such as the Archeological Museum can be reached in a 10/15 minute walk. However, this is not a hotel or B&B; there is no Reception, Lobby or breakfast and local communication with the couple who run the accommodation was by text. Our room was reasonably large and equipped with air-conditioning, a TV, fridge and hidden away below the fridge, a safe. The bathroom was reasonable, (although the towels were as stiff as cardboard!) and the accommodation was only cleaned once during our stay. However, the staff were helpful and facilitated our transfers both from the Airport and to the harbour and also assisted with our luggage, which was welcome given the lengthy spiral staircase. In summary, this is very central, convenient and historical accommodation...but beware the 56 spiral stairs!
