Albert & Victoria Hotel

I was in a room where the window did not open. A fan had been provided but it only pushed hot air around the room. The curtains were hanging off and did not fully shut. The mattress was very soft. The en-suite was tiny. I don’t see how it could be used with the door shut. I had to use the toilet whilst sitting at an angle and the shower access was reduced as the shower door could not open fully. There was tea and coffee provided, but no bottled water. However the bedding and towels were clean. The hotel was quiet through the night. Overall the hotel is adequate, but the decor is dated and needs refreshed.

Arrived to hotel and was shocked by the state of the outside appearance. Looked up at rooms and curtains were all hanging off. Its very run down, scruffy and needs a lot of work. Wasn’t going to stay but flower show was in and all other hotels fully booked. Went in to reception and the theme of being scruffy continued. Cluttered and not appealing at all, ironing board up in full view and loads of stuff lying around. Man checked us in was polite but no info as in breakfast times or check out ect was given just our keys. Upon entering the room it was a little better than I imagined. It was t good but wasn’t to bad. Clean bed and towels but the smell from drains in bathroom was bad. Paint coming of ceiling, curtains hooks off and the smallest bathroom ever. Mattress was shocking you could feel every spring. It’s such a shame as it’s in a perfect location and potentially a gold mine. I don’t get why some time, effort and money is not put in to this hotel? One positive is it’s cheap. Oh and car park was ok too but even that was cluttered with ladders. I would not return to this hotel again or recommend it.

Friendly and obliging staff. Clean double room. Pressure of water and temperature of the shower was perfect. Appreciated the luggage storage after check-out. Only negative was no toiletries in the shower. Can recommend for a budget hotel.

The hotel offers cheap rooms £84 for 2 nights but the rooms need slot of repair old broken windows with no locks on ,tired looking furniture,cracked tiles on the floor in the bathroom, ceiling peeling in the shower,wash basin needs a new soap holder,the bed was clean ,but could do with a decent mattress,but if like me was only using it for two nights and had been in worse so could put up with the room , breakfast not included that would cost you another £10, all in all ,although the room is cheap I wouldn't stay again

Stayed here overnight very pleasant staff and welcoming couldn't do enough for us would recommend staying again thanku breakfast we'll cooked other residents saying gd morning very pleasant thankyou muchly gd walk to arcades and restaurant cafe

Another great stay at this hotel. Staff are all really friendly and can't do enough for you. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spotlessly clean. We had breakfast this time and it was made to order and delicious. We will definitely be back.
