I stayed at ParkView Inn & Conference Center a single Friday night when I was overnighting in Allentown for an event I was attending at another location. I booked there because I was traveling solo and it was cheap. Check-in was pretty quick and easy. This is an aged facility that was built as a conference center with accommodations on site. It’s actually a very large motel. The rooms are fairly worn and somewhat run down. My room was in need of either new carpeting or a tile floor. During my stay I saw they were replacing the roof tiles. The passageways could have been cleaner and the sidewalks were in need of a good power wash. Some reviewers have complained about the smell. My room had the smell of disinfectant for sure, but I had calls to make after I arrived and sat on the door stoop with the door open to let some fresh air circulate. Made a huge difference. The sheets were crisp and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the heater worked fine. On a whim I pulled the filters from the AC/heater and they were clean. Not filled with dust. The Wi-Fi worked fine. I didn’t try the TV because I had an iPAD. There was a fridge but not a microwave. I didn’t hear a peep from any other guests the entire stay. I slept great. Bathroom/shower was very small but so what? It was functional. Started the morning with a hot shower. Sink basin was just outside the bathtub/toilet entryway/doorway. The sink is low, I'm thinking to accommodate guests who need the accessibility. Breakfast was basic: waffles, toast, muffins, and cereal with assorted juices, coffee, and milk. I was there for breakfast at 6 AM because I was hitting the road early. Only one other person was in the dining area and he was listening to Rock music on his phone or tablet with the volume turned all the way up. I love Rock, but it was not how I wanted to start my morning. So, I got my coffee and a muffin and left. Not the Ritz for sure, but when traveling solo it is doable. And the price was great.
