When we first entered the hotel to check in, there were guest infront so we have to wait. Took quite some time. Then when we want to checked in we were infoed by the receptionist that our room had some issues which is that there were some power trip issues for our room. First bad sign. We had to wait for a while while they tried to settle it. After few mins we asked again and they said they will give us a temporary room and our extension stay will extend to 1 more hour. The receptionist were kind and polite though. So we were given a temporary room for around 30 to 40 mins our room were fixed amd they called us up to proceed to our ro at level 2. We proceed to our room and the aircond isnt the unit type it is the ceiling type like a built in. My partner doesnt like it as it was not cold enough. But for me it was okay temperature. The star of he show is the jacuzzi. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi , it was so romantic and beautiful at night. But the moment we wanted to go to bed, i heard so many strange noises worst of all heard someone snoring so loudly that i cant even sleep. I have never encounter hearing like these from other hotels that we have go go our stayations. Other than the jacuzzu, i think this is just another typical hotel. Apart from jacuzzi, plus point is the bidet, the high bed and cleanliness too. the receptionist was also polite and kind. it was a nice place but i would opt for rest bugis which is just beside for a better vibe..

I almost felt live giving the rating a 2 1/2 instead of a 3 because although it wasn't a poor experience it wasn't average either because of the room size and other negatives. My room was classified as a ”Superior Single Room Without Window.” Very small space to move around from end of bed to beginning of bathroom. Maybe 7 feet by 5 feet space that the bed and counter ledge doesn't take up. Not much bigger than a pod sized room; but at least you get a good-sized bathroom which was the best part of the room. Excellent shower head with plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable even though it was difficult to get out of as you had to butt hop to make it to the end of the bed. There was more free space in the bathroom than in the bedroom. Narrow counter top for your laptop, the phone, the coffee maker, and other odds and sods. Other positives apart from the bathroom were the basic cleanliness and kind of cool gold-colored basin. Air conditioning worked well; but was difficult to control the temperature. Not much to sit on - a half-chair with basically no backing and hard on your back-end. I would recommend not staying in the type of room I stayed in for more than 2 weeks. There are larger rooms in the hotel with a window; but even the larger rooms from the photos I've seen don't have much room to move around. The hotel has a very small lobby with 2 comfortable armchairs; and not much else. There are nooks and crannies where you can store your belongings including clothers hangers on the walls and space under the bed. Definitely no closet. Another positive is the excellent modern elevator and friendly receptionists. Apart from the coffee maker there is a small refrigerator (which wasn't working during my stay) and a personal safe. I told the receptionist about the fridge not working; but he misunderstood me and thought I meant the phone not working. Another negative - during the weekdays the hotel receptionist is only on duty until 5pm. On the weekends they are on duty until much later. If you need something from the receptionist and they are off duty you have to go to the sister hotel around the corner the ”Hotel Clover - The Arts.” If you arrive when the receptionist is not on duty there is a note with a phone number to phone; but it would be helpful if they had directions to where the Hotel Clover The Arts is located. I actually had to show a fellow who arrived late and was waiting for a receptionist to show up where the HC The Arts hotel was. The Clover 7 may not be a bad choice; but only if you are there for not a long time period. I was there for a month and got used to the room size; but would definitely not recommend staying longer than a couple of weeks if that. Strange how you can adjust to anything; but if you are a tiny bit claustrophobic either make sure you either choose a different/larger room or a different hotel.

This place can be easy to miss if you don't keep your eyes peeled for the sign that says ”Hotel Clover The Arts” just outside the hotel. The hotel blends in together with the rest of the shophouses and can remain conspicuous to the uninitiated. The hotel reception is a very simple counter. After checking your identity, taking your credit card details, the key card is given with the wifi password access. The room which I was first given had an air conditioner which was too noisy. It's not a low hum, instead I could literally hear the running gears from the unit. The air conditioners are a tad old and should be maintained properly, if not replaced. I asked for a replacement room and was given quite promptly. The next room's air conditioner was also noisy but bearable. Not wanting to make things difficult for the hotel staff, I just let it be. The room was clean but small (12m2), which i had already expected when booking the accommodation. Many amenities were provided. Extra toilet roll, electric kettle, toiletries, toothbrush. The toilet was a little annoying as the toilet seat couldnt hold the seat in place and kept falling. The bedside light was also not working. There is an elevator which takes people up to the 5th floor. The table is really small and can fit only laptop with just a little space for the mouse. Location wise this is great as it's easily accessible by MRT, and there are plenty of food and shopping options. With Central Clarke Quay and Chinatown Point within 10min walk, this place is in a fabulous location. This hotel will be suitable for those looking for a no frills kind of hotel. Just beware of the noisy air conditioner and request for a room change if you given a room with one, unless you don't want to sleep well at night.
