The Avenue

We can highly recommend this B&B. The welcome is very warm, the room was light & spacious, the bed comfortable & the breakfast was great. All in all, we couldn't fault it & we will definitely look to stay there again if we return to the Isle of Wight.

Just got back from another stay at the Avenue owned by Simon and Johnathan and once again had a perfect time,nothing is too much trouble asked them to get a certain drink for the bar and it was there when we arrived . The breakfast is perfect good quality and cooked exactly how u want it, Simon and Johnathan are very knowledgeable about the island and everything u need to know is in a book in the room we will definitely be back again. PS even had a little gift left in our room when we were leaving so thoughtful thank you both

We’ve just spent a week on the Isle of Wight staying at The Avenue. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The room was a good size, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was cooked to perfection using good quality ingredients and service was attentive without being overbearing or intrusive. The honesty bar has a good selection of bottled beers, wine, spirits and bar snacks and is very reasonably priced. We hope to stay there again in the future.

This was our first stay at The Avenue and it certainly won't be our last! Johnathan and Simon were very welcoming, giving us lots of interesting ideas for things to do on the island. There is an honesty bar, a comfortable lounge, information on local restaurants, laminated walking guides and leaflets about bus routes, etc. The room was clean and comfortable, with TV, tea making equipment and a hairdryer. The shower room was a good size and clean. The breakfast was lovely, with a good selection of cooked items as well as fruit, cereal and yoghurt. You get a key to let yourself in and out as you please, which is really helpful. A lovely, quiet relaxing place to stay. Thank you Johnathan and Simon!

Simon and Jonathan are fantastic hosts. On booking in they took great care to see that you had all that you needed. Everything was done to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was top notch. Shanklin is an ideal place to base oneself to see the Island. 5stars not enough.

Lovely hotel, Johnathan and Simon were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast food was excellent, room was nice and clean ,everything was excellent we recommend the Avenue for a relaxing break. Shanklin Town centre and old village in easywalking distance.
