Recently, we went on a weekend trip to Seville with a group of friends. We stayed at the Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza, a Design Hotel. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Although it is not very centrally located, it is just a 15-minute walk from the old town center, with the advantage of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In every way, this is a boutique hotel, restored from an old manor house. The decor stays true to the original palace, blending harmoniously with the Mediterranean and architectural character of the city. The hotel has its own parking, including an electric car charging station at an additional cost, definitely a plus in a city where parking is challenging.Upon arrival, check-in was friendly and ultra-fast. We were assigned room #21, which, although not very spacious, had a large and comfortable King bed. Complimentary coffee, tea, and water were available. The bathroom was spacious, featuring two sinks, a large bathtub, and quality toiletries, including robes and slippers. Housekeeping was efficient, though there was no turndown service. The only downside was the small window, which let in little light and faced a passage used by other guests. The restaurant was not very large and served breakfast. During peak hours, it was somewhat difficult to find a table. However, the variety of food offered was excellent, both at the buffet and à la carte, even including Cava—amazing! Although the hotel had no dedicated bar, there were several cozy lounges, one with a welcoming fireplace, where drinks and snacks were served upon request. There was also a small pool, which we did not visit.A special mention goes to the staff, who provided five-star service. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, offering great value for money, and for that reason, we highly recommend this Design Hotel.
