Hotel vicini a Galeria Municipal do 11 a Setúbal Municipality

I had a bad last day experience there. I went to Setúbal with my wife and two daughters (3Y old and 1Y old baby) for the Alegro Half Marathon. The hotel had protocols with the organizers to allow late check-out on the running day. For my surprise, when I arrived from the running, they had already requested and quick out my family from the room. My wife had to carry alone the luggage to the main lobby and waiting for me. I couldn't shower and had to spend the rest of the planned day in Setúbal smelling like a pig. They wanted to fix the problem at the last minute by giving me back the key but, you know, there's nothing to do ”over spilled milk”. I guess is not staff fault but management fault that didn't communicate properly the info.

Siamo entrambi disabili (geni e problemi di hip) e volevamo una camera con bagno con doccia e non una doccia nel bagno). La gestione decide di accedere se si ottiene una camera con doccia o una camera con doccia in bagno. Ho detto alla gente del reparto di prenotazione che sarebbe molto male per noi se volessimo accedere e la camera con doccia non sarebbe disponibile. Risposta: Mi dispiace, ma queste sono le nostre regole. Anche una chiamata telefonica con il loro ufficio principale ha portato lo stesso messaggio: queste sono le nostre regole. A mio parere, non solo è brutta, non è amica del cliente, ma anche discriminatoria ! Quindi, avvertitevi se avete problemi a entrare in bagno. Sul loro sito web dice: Bagno o Doccia, ciò che significano è: noi decideremo cosa si ottiene.

The establishment is just as you'd expect from the photos posted, with tasteful, sophisticated, individualized room decor. It's a far cry from the cold, impersonal chain hotels. The building and rooms are a perfect combination of authenticity and modernity. The staff are charming, attentive, caring and hyper-responsive. Perfect check-in and check-out. Great location, good soundproofing, very good bedding; however, I deplore the 2 single beds for a couple. Reasons for the 3 out of 5 rating: you get the impression that a lot of attention has been paid to the aesthetics of the rooms (which we loved), but there's a real lack of storage space, which is almost non-existent; this is still acceptable for our 2 nights, but I won't be coming back for a longer stay, and therefore with more belongings. Another black mark is the breakfast: it's taken in the bakery lounge on the first floor. While the RM Guesthouse is intended to be a cocoon, the bakery room is certainly bright and clean, but not up to scratch. What's more, the choices are relatively limited: why not a formula with a choice of hot beverage (and not just coffee), a viennoiserie to choose from (and not just croissants), etc.? In my hotel choices, breakfast is an important element, and as explained, in my opinion it's a long way from what an establishment like the RM Guesthouse should offer.

Il personale era molto carino, così amichevole e utile, e questo è stato un enorme plus. I letti erano freschi ogni giorno senza fallimento e contenevano lenzuola fresca e gli asciugamani puliti. Il buffet è stato buono con una varietà di frutta fresca, yogurt, cereali, salami, han, formaggio e buffet caldo; bacon, uova salsicce! Rolli e pasticce dolci così tanti da scegliere. Caffè fresco e tè, così come una scelta di succhi... Per il prezzo è stato buon valore.

Location is wonderful, and so is the whole building and surroundings. But comparing price/quality there is really something missing. We spent 3 nights in weekend High season, but there was no management at all.We had to wait more than 3 hours before we could have our room, although we send a mail to ask for an earlier check in than 16.00. Not possible, we have to waited till 16.15 . We have been in many 5 stars places all over the world, but never had this situation. Thanks to Mr Joao de Sousa we we're calm down. He treated and helped us later with everything, and that made our stay good. Our superior terras room was located perfect, clean and cool, but the decoration is for that price some dated. The bathroom very small and not really comfortable. In the adults pool only three umbrellas, to protect all the guests from the sun. sunbeds we're not very clean, and the pool towels, is really not done, in a 5 star Hotel member of the Leading hotels of the world. The quality of the breakfast was 3 stars, only 2 sorts of unripe fruit, and no fresh bread at all. We have had diner several times, at the fantastic Terras outside, but please put mores covering to protect people for the extreme sunburning. quality of the food was good, specially my fish was perfect prepared, and again I say, the very kind service of Mr Joao, David, and several other members of the restaurant was really touching. They did their job more than fantastic. So overall, the place has so many strong assets, location, building, history, surroundings, but some for us important details we're missing, and the feeling that there was no management to talk with, but the location is Portugal on it's best! Ottima posizione, comodissima per girare sia a piedi che con i mezzi. Struttura bella, magari un cartello in più fuori non guasterebbe perché ho fatto 3 volte avanti e indietro senza accorgermi della scritta sul vetro. Staff gentile. Camere piccole ma poco importa se si vuole visitare la città e utilizzarlo solo per riposare. Ci vorrebbero alcuni accorgimenti in più; vista la modernità del posto uno si aspetterebbe magari qualche gancio ai letti e non solo quattro appendini in tutto, un poggia sapone nella doccia, magari un dispenser di sapone ad uso comune al posto di una saponetta..il mio letto non era molto comodo ma con la stanchezza della sera ho dormito ugualmente come un ghiro. La colazione decisamente costosa per quello che offre; 7,50€ sono molti considerando che ho pranzato in giro con 12€ e cenato con 15€. Non vengono organizzati eventi, serate, tour, e mi è dispiaciuto perché viaggiando sola avrei gradito passare del tempo in compagnia. Tutto sommato ho soggiornato piacevolmente ma non ci tornerei ecco!

We stayed there in September, for 6 days, as we had our wedding in costa caparica. We had a happy week in Portugal, but the quality of the service in the hotel was poor. The building itself is clean, and has a kind of desing, thats a plus. But the staff was not kind or nice at all. We literally felt bad whenever we went to the reception to discuss something (basic things, like reserving a table etc). They looked pretty grumpy and when we approached them, we felt uncomfortable, they just wanted to get rid of us. Applies for the Reception and the breakfast and bar staff. Only the cleaning ladies were nice and smiling. It was pretty difficult to order or ask in English durint launch or breakfast. Our parents arrived one day later, around 1 am in the morning, after a 14hours trip, and after check-in we had to do all the paying in this late hour, even though we asked and promised that we will come down first thing in the morning to pay, as they are exteremely exhausted after the trip. They didnt care at all. At other hotels we always paid upon leaving but even if they want to make sure and have it in advance, i truly believe they should be more emphatic and not keeping exhasuted people at the front desk for an extra 30 minutes in the middle of the night. My father has diabetes and high hart rate, he was really suffering after this trip and just wanted to go to bed. All the parents are above 65, it was unpleasent welcome. At this hotel you have to book the breakfast table in advance, doesnt matter how late you arrived,and even if this is the last thing you want to do on your holiday, to follow a schedule. When we ate at the bar, it took literally an hour to get some snack. The 3person room is not really a 3 person room, it is a normal room with an extra bed which is only suitable for smaller children. (It is not like a must, but a good indicator: we had our wedding there, walking out from the hotel, and no one from the staff had a kind word - even all the flight attandendts were nices that anyone in the hotel.) We choose the hotel as it is close to the beach by car, so it fulfilled the purpose, but we would not go back. For the price you can get better.

Letto grande e comodo camera grande con tende male odoranti, personale gentile , sono rimasto bloccato in ascensore, camera rifatta dopo 3 giorni era una suite. Colazione buona. L'Hotel è meraviglioso come struttura ma è completamente in disuso, sembra che stanno attendendo un nuovo acquirente per ristrutturarlo tutto. Infatti la cucina è abbandonata, uso solo per colazione, ristorante con sala spettacolare e terrazza panoramica praticamente abbandonate allo sfascio. Bar inesistente , hanno messo una macchina caffè gratuita 24 ore nella Lobby .... Gravissimo che mi hanno obbligato a pagare 8 notti subito con carta di credito prima di vedere la stanza, infatti dopo 2 giorni me ne sarei andato ma non mi avrebbero rimborsato....... Nessun Hotel nella mia vita mi ha chiesto il pagamento anticipato al Check in per 8 notti, può succedere per una sola notte. Sconsiglio di andare se non viene ristrutturato.

This is a 3-star hotel masquerading as a 4-star hotel. The units that were recently renovated got the landlord special: the doorknobs were falling off the bathroom door, the A/C just didn’t work (the staff insisted it did, but we needed to open the window regardless), and the shower doesn’t have a proper barrier so water gets literally everywhere despite your best efforts. The rooms are tiny giving you no space to get takeout or eat a snack. There are plenty of tables downstairs and poolside but the staff insist you cannot bring outside food even though there is no restaurant using those tables and the tables have no use outside of breakfast. The rooms are expensive for the location and amenities. There is a pool but honestly you don’t come to Portugal to swim in a hotel pool. I’ve stayed at many hotels and I’ve never had a worse experience at a so-called “4-star” hotel. At least with 3 star hotels they’re cheaper and you know what you’re getting. We actually had a better stay at another local hotel last week. A large family suite with powerful air conditioning for far less than this tiny double bed room with a vent that blows oddly humid and slightly cool air.
