Introduction Located about 70 minutes drive away from the Jeju international airport in Seogwipo, South Korea, the Cornerstone Hotel (코너스톤호텔) is a 1-star budget motel located within the Seogwipo city center. The key appeal of Cornerstone Hotel is as a short-stay stopover at the south of the island, within walking distance of the city, with most travellers staying just 1 or 2 nights at most. Ambience Ambience is cozy, almost cramped. Basic with limited views of the city, the place is functional and clean. Students on holiday opt to stay here, thanks to their budget-friendly prices. There's a rooftop terrace offering views of the city, which is particularly beautiful during sunset. Room Rooms at Cornerstone Hotel have a frustrating power layout, preventing use of some of the power sockets. The rooms are also exposed to harsh sunlight during the day, making them really warm. The bed is suitable for individuals, less comfortable for couples. The cable television, wi-fi, mini refrigerator, and bathroom are basic and functional. We tolerated the room during our stay, which was fortunately short. Food Food is self-prepared, thanks to their well-stocked pantry, and common kitchen. For breakfast, supplies of toasted bread, strawberry jam, white rice, soy sauce, and sliced cheddar cheese are all free. With a CU convenience store nearby, it's easy to get more food and drinks. Service Service is hardworking. The single staff manning the counter oversees guest services (check-in/out, request fulfilment), parking valet services, waste disposal, and security, though housekeeping is thankfully through a team of cleaners. Staff also helpfully guide guests in using the free washer and dryer, and use of cooking equipment in the common kitchen. Facilities & Activities The facilities and activities are typical of a motel, with the common kitchen and common dining room a great place for chilling, working, or interacting with others. There's free self-service laundry with the shared washer and dryer, and the ground floor parking area is guarded by a fierce dog (on a leash). Overall, the Cornerstone Hotel is decent for short stays of 1 or 2 days, except that I dislike the room power layout and really have to tolerate it.

Ho prenotato un viaggio di Jeju per tre notti, tra queste tre, ho trascorso due notti nella parte orientale di Jeju in un altro hotel. Per curiosità ho prenotato questo hotel perché quando ho visitato Seoguipo a metà del 2010, ho avuto la possibilità di camminare e mi sono impressionato con il paesaggio. Quando sono entrato, sapevo di aver fatto un errore. Avrei dovuto trascorrere tutta la notte in questa struttura. Per me è sorprendente che l'atmosfera del posto sia assolutamente incomparabile a qualsiasi luogo che ho visitato. In genere, il tradizionale stile coreano ”rimane” mette in evidenza un po' di stile gotico con tetti monotici, che solo ricchi e privilegiati hanno goduto e un po' falso. Ma questo posto ha un villaggio comune assolutamente tradizionale di ieri, la Corea, le piccole strade che si scontrano intorno a ogni unità e piante attentamente coltivate che garantiscono la privacy degli ospiti. Questi non sono solo personale addestrato ripetutamente, le cui scuse automatiche sembrano molto robotiche, ma sono veramente a cura degli ospiti e mi chiedo come questo piccolo impianto mantenga così fantastici personale. Mi consiglio molto di prenotare con la famiglia, gli amici per molte notti. I alloggi sono grandi e si siedono intorno e guardano fuori portano la stessa definizione di ”esperienza di guarigione”. Pro: Fantastica esperienza. Stupendo paesaggio con architettura attenta. Ben mantenuto con facilità con grande area di servizio. Vuole un villaggio tradizionale autentico con comfort moderno. Grande personale! Cons: Bit retro con chiavi meccaniche e mostrando un po 'di età. Nessun accesso diretto alla spiaggia. Se sei una testa di spiaggia, non può essere per te.

This was my second visit and I might try next year as well if I come to Jeju island again. Food is great for the price. Lovrd the breakfast. As a platinum member, my family was expecting to be upgraded greatly because one of the opening members of this hotel dearly dearly asked to visit here again. She was a model of the advertisement on TV screen of the front desk. My husband and I were a bit doubting with our first stays. My coffee had some bvlgari soap taste and smell from nespresso machine I used. Their bathroom amenities are Bvlgari. I was very unpleasant if they washed the cups roughly by using in room handwash or so. And we had brand new hotel’s Smell issues in the room. I had a terrible headache and allergies with sneezing. When I requested to have some sprays to get rid of the smell , they got me some sprays and air purifier. It didn’t solve much but we enjoyed the sightseeing and nice food selections in the hotel. The room manager sent us nice dessets From the lounge or breakfast buffet desserts to apologize about coffee taste incident. At least, we were grateful to see some gestures of apologies. and we weren’t upgraded our room last time for 5 days in spite of off season. They said the rooms were full but I had been read Of reviews that those who just arrived at the hotel while we were staying. They seemed to have been upgraded. Their tiers weren’t higher than my status all the time. Those lies the front desk workers told us made us upset a bit. I wouldn’t honestly stay here by paying the full prices that they marked. I think Jeju has a lot more of better options with hotel services and its locations to offer. This hotel Was over priced back then and still now. It is even not worth of points of 55,000 Points a night if you don’t get any breakfast for free. There are more options with better professonal options like Sh@@l hotel and many others. I would only stay here when the restaurants wuality and prices arr nice as now and we get all the tier benifits. This time, they just ignored promised not to disapoint my family if we visiy again around June. They dearly promised to upgrade to one of the Suites if we camr back. We thought it couldn’t be trusted but we wanted to trust the words. It was simply ignored many times again and I was also reading the live reviews on Korean traveler’s Blogs and web groups bragging about their Suites that they got upgraded for free during the same periods of stay as us. Theirs was shorter. We wanted and asked even for a day if we could. And they said, everyone was staying as long as us and it is fully occupied. I didn’t understand why the hotel had to lie to us about it. Anyways, we didn’t pay for the Suites - the upgraded luck wasn’t there and can’t be complaint of it. But we were disappointed with the way of their treatment with lies or not so much accommodation.

We stayed for five nights in the tropical hideaway hotel. The hotel is nicely decorated, as are the spacious rooms. A real plus is that all rooms have a direct sea view and a balcony, and the bathtub on the balcony is awesome. The pool area is equally nice. The language barrier (English) is a small issue, so perhaps service is more personal when you speak Korean. Anyway, everyone spoke sufficient basic English and was very kind. Breakfast is good, but the variety could be better. Every day, there is a little set menu (see pictures), yet there are only two different menus. So we ended up having the same again after day 3. Offering a bit more variety would be great, although we enjoyed the breakfast overall. A downside is that breakfast is only between 8:30 and 9:30 am, so if you plan to go for a hike or so and want to leave early, that’s not ideal. The location in a little seafront village is nice. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. Just note that going to some famous places in Jeju will imply quite a bit of driving (e.g., 1.5 hours to Seongsang and 45 minutes to Seogwipo). In any case, you need a car. In sum, it’s a good choice in Jeju, and we recommend it (keeping the above notes in mind)
