St Brides Spa Hotel & Village Apartments

Spa was to cold to use, spent 15 minutes in on arrival, I did ask the staff if I could get a refund as I payed for two nights. Room was run down dirty with mold on walls. Bathroom I cleaned as there was urine stains on the loo and floor, bath was full of hair and mold. Breakfast was cooked in advanced so cold and bland.

The pillows were amazing. The whole place is amazing. Lovely staff and an amazing room. We stayed over new year. Already booked for 2025. The spa was top notch. Loved everything.if you want pure luxury book this hotel. I couldn’t fault anything.

Our son and his girlfriend bought us a voucher for afternoon tea at the St Brides Hotel. We were really looking forward to visiting since it has recently changed ownership. We arrived and waited several minutes before we found a member of staff to show us to our table which wasn’t the best first impression. The service continued to be extremely slow. The food itself was good but we definitely won’t be booking for Sunday lunch or an evening meal based on our experience today. The service, under the previous owner, Andrew Evans was always superb. The decor and views are lovely but the service standards need to improve drastically. very disappointed

We stayed at the village apartments on the 26th and 27th of May. Check in was for 4pm which personally thought was a little late as most places allow you to check in from 2pm. Parking around the hotel is non existant when trying to check in don't no where guests at the hotel were meant to park. Was warned at check in to make sure shower door is shut when showering as this will set fire alarm off we we were woken at eight on the Tuesday morning by the alarm and again at ten whilst in bed other guests assembled in the car park thinking it was a actual fire I've stayed at many hotels and never encountered alarms this sensitive when one goes off every apartments alarm goes off just warning people who don't like been woken with a high decibel noise. Moving on to the apartment it was clean and tidy and met our needs found it strange though that no toiletries were in bathroom . Tea and coffee were left but no milk not even the small long life milk

This was our 14 th visit and we were very worried that things may have changed , since being taken over by The Celtic Collection . Thankfully you have stayed the same friendly , welcoming hotel providing first class service as always. The food was fabulous and I have enjoyed sharing pictures of our meals on Facebook and Twitter. All the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I must mention Isobel , who works in the restaurant. She was particularly so friendly and welcoming , always greeting us with a smile. Thank you also for our lovely welcoming card & chocolates, so very thoughtful. The coffee machine in the room was a lovely touch too , we thoroughly enjoyed that. Spa and infinity pool was amazing as always. Looking forward to staying with you again next year.

We had booked a night stay and spa access for our 11th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately the hotel contacted us via email to state that they had to cancel our booking due to refurbishment. This is totally fine and we had planned to contact the hotel on May 27th 2025 when it reopens to rebook our stay. The email we received states that no bookings are being taken currently. Today a payment was taken from my account for over £340 without my permission. We contacted the hotel and were told this payment was for a no show and that we should have rearranged to stay in the apartments. If I wanted to stay in the apartment I would have booked that originally. I wanted the hotel and spa package. The hotel have so far been very unhelpful and will not issue a refund. I currently have no booking in place and the booking I did have they cancelled. Therefore I do not have to pay a single penny. I was looking forward to rebooking our stay and I had no issue with the hotel cancelling. After the money being unlawfully taken from my account I now feel I do not want to visit this hotel. I cannot believe you think it’s acceptable to charge me for something I have not received and for something I have not yet rebooked. I am currently taking this further and waiting to hear back from trading standards. This is not the service I would have expected to receive from such a well established hotel. Appalling!
